So I figure people don't really want to join up on a new forum to find out peoples experiences on random products like heaters, washing machines, lawn mowers, tv's, and other junk like that.

If you find a product you've been especially happy with post it up here. Tell how much you paid, where you bought it, why you like it, or why you don't.

I've got a question on what you guys recommend on space heaters. I'm in the market for a good heater to keep my master bedroom warm at night. It's an addition to my house and they weren't able to put brick around the addition, I'm guessing because they couldn't find matching brick. I have deduced this must be the reason this room stays consistently colder than the rest of the house. That and I'm also guessing my central heating and cooling unit may be too small to push enough air or heat to that room. The duct work is all there and the room is insulated correctly.

Alas, I was almost lured into buying one of those new Heat Surge heaters that supposedly melds Amish design and manufacturing with some "Chinese breakthrough technology" in heating. They have all kinds of coupons for $200 off but they expire in two days and the ads claim it can heat your house easily. Everybody's reviews were very negative and therefore I'm in the market for something different.

I'd like to get an infrared heater to mitigate the chance of fires, but if I have to I'll just buy a better ceramic heater.

Does anybody have any suggestions?

Don't go with a ceramic heater, or one with a fan. Their efficiency is shiatty at best.

Get an oil-filled radiator like this instead.

It will come on and off as needed to keep the oil inside warm. It won't burn hands if you accidentally touch it, and you can leave it plugged in and on all winter because it uses very little energy. My girlfriend has two that she uses all winter to keep the heat pump from coming on as often, and it lowers her electricity bill a whole lot. Since they are oil filled, it only comes on every once in a while to heat the oil.

How big is the room that you are trying to heat? Kayla uses 2 for her house, and its around 800 sq ft. It wouldnt hurt for her to have one more. If you are just doing one room, I would just get one.

I have used the oil types.. Not bad.. just take some time to heat a room up.. But they are much safer

I forgot to mention that. It needs to be plugged in an hour before you actually want heat lol. But once they get warm they do well.

That's perfect. We only need it to heat the room we sleep in over night. We could turn it on while we get ready for bed and it'd be ready by the time we crashed. The room is probably only 400 sq ft. so it'd do great. The rest of my house stays nice and toasty.

Next product! Since we're going to be having a baby I've decided I'd like a really like to have a nice camera. This one was advertised on the X Factor tonight so I figured I'd research it a little bit. I looked up a little on that new Nikon that Ashton Kutcher advertises too.

I got my girlfriend a Nikon D3100 that came with the lens for about $100 less than what is in those pictures, and she loves it. I don't ever get to use it lol
