Ok yall...i just bought my 1st gen xterra...looking to mod it.I figured Id start by lifting it...any suggestions? IM not ganna go crazy with my first lift not looking too spend a fortune yet lol...

Don't own a 1st gen but have done a fair amount of reading - The easiest and cheapest is the Poor mans lift or PML. Crank the torsion bars up and add some lift shackles.

I may need all the rules...just to be on the up and up lol...
I have had these on my truck for the past decade with no issues. You may need to re index the torsion bars to level out the truck but this is the cheapest way to add a little lift.

thats exactly what ive decided too go with...thanks HolyGhost for the info it has sealed the deal with th shackels.I have had these on my truck for the past decade with no issues. You may need to re index the torsion bars to level out the truck but this is the cheapest way to add a little lift.

This is what i recommend too. They have lately been very slow on the shipping.I'm also a 2nd Gen guy but these folks have a good reputation for their parts.

I've been running the PML on mine. Along with some good tires, and shackles in the rear, I think you'll be very surprised how far the X will take you. I was originally planning on doing a body lift, 3" suspension lift, and stuffing 33's under mine, but I've come to the realization that for the type of wheeling I'm doing (mostly long distance overland stuff, with some technical trails mixed in), I just don't need it.
I'd rather spend the money on figuring out how to carry more gas (which I think I've found a solution to being able to carry an additional 12 gallons, in addition to the 10 on my tire carrier).
Also, you can't say you bought one without posting pics. Just saying.
