Still have the 390WR Husky & did the Mint 400 twice on her & many other Hopetown/ hair & hound type events. Maico was my local MX / Carlsbad, Saddledback type local motocross events. They went when I moved to the east coast & bought a Suzuki, Moto Guzzi, Norton motorcycle shop.

Damn. I did the Mint 400, in a full suspension truck and thought I took a beating. You are MUCH more the man than me. Haha

Suspension was pretty good for the day. Konis on the rear & close to 5”, front forks about 6. And the smell of Blendzall Castor oil mixed with AV gas.....mmm mmm good.

Actually, the decent suspended bikes weren’t all that bad. Get the right speed for the whoops, anmd watch out for the “pucker” bushes.

I did the mint the first year they allowed bikes back (2019) iron man, but my handlebars fell off (no really) and even though I made it to pit 3 (yes, I can ride a bike with no handlebars) I timed out.

Same year I iron manned vegas to reno (after reattaching my bars)
