There has been a lot of discussion on the member's FB page about the club disbanding. Apparently there were only 20 people or something that paid dues this year, and nobody filed for tax exempt status, and there is very little engagement on the FB page. I'll keep this thread updated as the situation develops.

I was wondering. I haven't seen anything in my email about it in a while. Since I don't bookface. All of the meetings and notes used to come to my Gmail, I guess nobody kept up with that either. Shame. Good bunch of people for the most part.

I think this is unfortunately the way things are trending. Less people want to keep up with stuff like that. The “Virginia Xterra Club” hasn’t done anything at all I think in a couple years at least.

Don't live in the area but sad to hear this. I would agree that "clubs" seem to be a thing of the past almost. I started and ran a club in Colorado for a few years but as we got older and family and such it slowly fell apart. When I got my X I thought I would look up some of the other clubs we ran with. All of them are gone. The Colorado Association of Four Wheel drive clubs which used to be a big group of clubs now has just 5 or so. Seems to me it makes it easier to go wheeling with a group but speaking from experience it also can be work and drama.

Bought an X
People inevitably will buy other trucks and move on. For me, I plan to keep the X till I can’t. As classic off road vehicles become OBE by tech, safety, and fuel economy considerations, these trucks will become classics. As an old guy, that’s fine with me. Glad for places like this forum, where we can share info on, and experiences with, the X!
