Love it! Between that the PML and 33s I feel like I drive a completely different truck. Also, those lights look good.

Thanks guys...actually, the spare will be very close to the hatch, above the existing tubing. The tubes on there now are designed to protect the tire from below and take any blow from obstacles

I believe Jmac is referring to the licence plate. You could see it if you were following your X in a car though.

Looks good NMTerras!

AHHHHH...now I get it...you can see it from behind just fine...but it's a temporary placement until I get the spare tire carrier mounted.

Thanks Amish!

Have you looked at the Rotopax gas/water carriers? I'm considering putting a 4 gallon Rotopax behind the spare and a standard jerry can to the left.

Haven't gotten around to checking it out yet. Need to get the swing away done, fix my cb and break that effing drain plug loose first...
I have a five gallon water jug left over from living in foul water west Texas, was really only planning on a gas can...but now I better check it out!

Looking very good and I like your very unique design on the bumper.
Will be good for those tail-dragger drop offs !
Way to go.

You need a dimple die'd plate over the top of it now!
(I could help you with that..)

Max, I appreciate the offer, but your beautiful precision work would look out of place on my "yeah, that looks close enough" bumper...

And it was at this point we identified a major flaw in the design...

Yea... that is a flaw. But there's some unique brilliance to it as well. I've spent a few hours this past week trying to figure out how to get the spare to hug the back hatch better and I really think that you are on to something. I'll probably be pacing back and forth a couple of extra hours in the shop tonight trying to learn from your example.

Rok- i thought about and if i had extended the hinge 2-3 inches farther right past the edge of the hatch, under the tail light, that design would have worked. Poor planning.

Maybe something to keep in mind for hatch/window clearance to the tire. It doesn't take much of an impact or bump to flex the tire into the window if too close and that's costly. Was amazed watching another x drop into a wash and hit the tire going down. It flexed the tire carrier into the hatch but really didn't bend anything less the latch.
They can even move quite a bit on a big bump or jump..

Sorry for leaving the "license plate view" information out of my last post...lol. But as stated, the bumper itself looks good....very unique.
