Nissan Timing Chain Lawsuit

Class actions are a great income source for lawyers but I have yet to see one yield anything useful for the people affected by whatever the problem was. "Lawyers for Nissan customers will receive more than $3.2 million."

You're better off just filing your own lawsuit and settling out.

That said it was interesting to see Nissan publicly claim this: "The automaker says it considers 120,000 miles the full life expectancy of a vehicle."

Honestly after this, SMOD and the other known problems from Nissan that they knew about yet did absolutely everything they could to not recall/fix anything.. I'll never buy another nissan again because I know they don't stand behind their vehicles at all. It's a real shame 05-11s have so many potential (expensive) problems

It's all the Renault idiots, the pre-merger Nissan was primarily Japanese and they have enough pride in their work and ethics not to put out products like that.

Probably more based on amount driven before the average owner wants a new vehicle. The book value of vehicles drop like rocks after 100k anyway.

We are not average.

Agreed on that point lol. Most everyone I know gets a new car/truck every few years or so. Meanwhile I'm driving the same thing I owned in 2006 although I'd argue it looks better now than then. I just tell people if you buy something you really like then you're more likely to want to keep it.

I actually like driving my X so much, as my pooch always goes with me also. So I am selling my Lincoln MKz as it just sits most of the time covered up. If need to roadtrip still have my wife's Escape Titanium. So that why I have gone ocd on my 2003 X. Just making it mine and certainly happy with it.

But I cannot lie. I really hope the new Ford Bronco 2 door is done right. I am anxious to see. But will keep my X. Just cover up Bronco instead haha.

So am I, everything I've been hearing is good but still waiting to see what the final design looks like. I have a feeling it will be pretty awesome given as long as they've been working on it. Ford's been having a lot of factory assembly problems with the Explorer though so I'll probably wait until it's been out a few years to avoid the new design issues that inevitably pop up.

I just got the claim form in the mail for this. It is also only reimbursing a % (based on your mileage) of the first $900 of repair costs. That's pretty cheap if you ask me. Almost everyone who had this repair done at a dealer paid $1400+. Most were in the $1600-1800 range from what I saw.

Yeah based on the terms of that settlement I wasn't too upset when my state wasn't included.
