That's interesting.
Don't notice any noise in my ar's.
The AR10 build I did included a "twang buster" part in the tube assy, but the 308 bolt travels about twice what the 223 does...

I've been working too damn much to try to put the new buffer on. Sunday is looking good, though. I have a vice block for the upper, but now I'm wishing I had one for my lower.

I've also concluded that I REALLY need a workbench upstairs. I hate sitting at the kitchen table to clean/tear down my long guns, and I can't put a vice on the kitchen table...plus, if I actually DO start to reload, I'll need a sturdy table/bench anyway. Why not just turn my guest room into a Gun Room? OH MY gobble I'M A GENIUS!!!!

That sounds like a great idea. I too wish I had a dedicated bench when Im sitting at the table trying not to get solvent and oil on everything...

Finally put the new buffer tube on and shot it. Cycled like a dream! No FTEs or double feeds, and all rounds cycled as they should...bolt even stayed back on the empty mag! Ha!

I put a cheap BSA scope on it a while back, and I had it dialed in at the Prentice Cooper run..well, I took it off to try to move it further up the rail...had to re-zero, which I attempted to do today..I say attempt because I went through 80 rounds before I realized the scope was actually loose in the rings. Yep. No wonder I couldn't get it to hold a zero!!!! Ran back up to my dad's garage, threw some Loctite on the scope rings, and ran another 30rds through it with MUCH better results. I wish I had a better optic, as it's good at 50M but sucks at 100M. The mil-dots cover up almost all of my target, and I don't like it. I definitely won't be deer hunting with it this year.

Anyway, I am VERY VERY VERY satisfied with my build. I have BIG plans for it after nXm that include a FF rail and a new stock.

How big of a target are you shooting at that the mildots cover it? One dot = 5MOA, crosshair = 1MOA, so, for it to cover the target at 100m, that'd mean you're shooting a 5-6" target...

Btw, that's EXACTLY what I'd use for deer hunting, so you can more accurately range em...

I'd probably like it better if I had a set of risers for the scope. I have to crane my head to get a good picture with the rings being so low. BSA makes them, I just have to go buy some.

There is a mildot over the crosshairs, rather than just having the dots along the X & Y and not have one in the center. That drives me nuts.

Dot in the middle, a 5moa block out on point of impact? Unless your gun is lucky to shoot MOA I can see your issue with it...

then again, realistically, that's probably not going to adversely effect you deer hunting....

Just says has become popular with Air rifle shooters because it is a UK site. They don't allow much shooting over there. Air rifles are the big thing.
