The driver side tweeter on my 2004 Xterra has started making a weird buzz/crackling sound and I'm guessing its about to go out.

Any good plug-n-play aftermarket options? Or close to plug-n-play? Otherwise where's the best place to get an OEM replacement?

**SIDE NOTE: My rear wiper will no longer stay up. Is this easy to fix? As it's becoming quite annoying to look at.

Can't really help with the speakers, but for the wiper, remove the cover at the mount, loosen the nut and stick it back where the blade is horizontal.

Other than a junkyard, not anymore. You could try a dealership. They can search on a national basis. So maybe some dealer somewhere has one. I don't know what the cross reference is as far as other models that used the same part.

Your other option is to replace the entire speaker set with an aftermarket component set. I used an Infinity Reference set in the front of my old 02. I was able to secure the aftermarket tweeter to the factory bracket using a small screw. Still fit under the stock pillar grill.

Damn. Thanks Prime. Did the Infinity set plug right in or did you have to clip the wires?

So a component set comes with its own crossover. It's a separate device that takes the speaker output of the radio or amp and then has two sets of taps. One for the woofer and one for the tweeter. I ran my own wire from the radio to the crossover. Then used the factory speaker wire going to the door for the woofer and then my own new wire from the crossover to the tweeter location.

Do you have the Rockford Fosgate system? Because that changes things.

So that changes things. A lot. There's an amplifier behind the center stack all the way at the bottom. Your tweeter and woofer are both home run to that amp. It is doing the crossover. So if you were to replace it then you'd just replace the speakers and leave the wiring intact. Because if you don't you won't be able to power the speakers correctly.

Awesome... Lol so basically there's no way easy way to replace it other than finding an OEM one or somehow finding another tweeter that'll plug right in?

Even in the old truck I gutted the entire audio system and replaced it with aftermarket parts. Heh. Sometimes it's just better that way.
