I'm old(er), in Sacramento and I just sold my gorgeous 2019 Avalon with the custom tint, wheels and audio because it only had 5k miles after 3 years. It just sat in the garage. I loved it but I finally figured why not have something in your garage that you will actually want to use.

I looked at different vehicles for about 2 weeks. First looking at low priced older models when I thought I'd be running two vehicles. Once I decided my purchase would be a vehicle replacement I had a bigger budget. I looked at a lot of different models and I've concluded that for me that Land Cruisers and Land Rover Defenders are too expensive (and the Discovery is uglier than the back of a bus). Montero driver aides and features are lacking. 4Runners are common but still expensive. I consider them strongly. I don't care for Jeeps or any American cars (and you can tell them I said that!). So in the end it was always going to be an Xterra.

I can't officially claim to possess an Xterra as it won't be here until the 14th when Montway brings my 2015 Xterra PRO-4X to Sacramento from MA. I... can't... wait...

Thank you!

Here she is...

Welcome aboard !! Since you have the last year they made X's you should definitely start a RUST abatement process and help make her last . Like Prime kinda hinted to ; the Northeast should be called the " rust bucket zone " . Beside's the frame it start's to rust thru under those black molding strip's over the rear wheel well's . You can take them off and touch up/repaint or give a couple coat's of wax .

Man is that a good point! I've got an appointment with a local mechanic to do a rust (and everything else) inspection. Xterra has 61k miles on it so that's better than most of the Xterras I reviewed. If he does happen to find rust then I was planning on taking it to this stripping place in Sacramento to put the blaster on it and coat it up. Either way I hope there aren't too many pieces of crunched up lobster pot in that sand. Peace sir.

I think you are right about that. I grew up for most of my youth in Pennsylvania near Buffalo... the land of studded tires. I will most certainly have my guy check it out. I would like to get the ride protected as much as possible. Thank you!
