Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance

This game was originally announced at E3 2009 and I have been waiting just for a release date for over 2 years. Originally supposed to be part of the Metal Gear Solid franchise, Hideo Kojima decided to make it a spinoff and passed the game off to Platinum games mid-development. Either way, I love the "slice at will" style of gameplay and will continue to patiently wait for this one!

The Last of Us

I came across this one through StumbleUpon and with the survivalists in the Nation, I'm sure this one will please. It is a post apocalyptic world in which a father and daughter fight daily for survival. The gameplay in this one reminds me of "The Walking Dead." NaughtyDog president says that "This is not a video game, there are no winners or losers. It is an experience." Needless to say, I will be purchasing this one as soon as it is available, sadly it is a PS3 Exclusive, as the 360 is apparently incapable of running it with a decent frame rate.

The Darkness II

This one is kinda Last-Minute. The Darkness (the original) has stood out IMO as one of the most under rated FPS games of this console generation. The story grabbed you by the collar of your shirt and snatched you into the dark twisted world of Jackie Estacado after "The Darkness" possesses him. This is literally the first sentence of The Darkness' introduction dialogue:

"I remember the night of my 21st birthday. That was the first time I died."

I won't spoil the first game for those who have yet to play it (hint, hint). Part two picks up a few years after the possession that was part one, where Jackie Estacado is now Don of the Franchetti crime family. Years without The Darkness possessing him is shattered when an attempted "Hit" on him causes The Darkness to once again take care of business, and by business I totally mean shredding people limb from limb. I admit, the graphics are not as top-notch as some other First Person Shooters but the story alone is what will draw me to part 2. In my book, The Darkness II is a must-play.

I will be using this thread to get geeked-up about new games that interest me. I play the main-stream games, but the less advertised games is what I go after. A game will sell itself if it is made right. Honestly, I haven't played a fighting game since Tekken on the original Playstation (besides 5 minutes of Soul Caliber), I guess I just like FPS and RPG's more. Speaking of which, anyone getting this?:

I mainly FPS. I get into RPG's only if I KNOW the story is worth it and the rest of the time I am playing Racing Simulators like Forza and Gran Turismo. There are a few others that I know of that I want to add, but that will have to wait till tomorrow.:yawn:

I'm an equal opportunity game player, but, I prefer to play single player or at most local multiplayer, so racing or rpg are what I play more often, the game that is upcoming that I'm most looking forward to is Darksiders II. The first one was a blast, the second looks to be much more fun. It's a 3rd person action type game. The story behind the original was that you (the main character) are War (of the 4 Horsemen of the Apocalypse), you were tricked into thinking that the end of the world had begun...

The story goes on to cover that war finds out that he was framed, and goes on a rampage to become strong enough to take on the one who framed him, all the while the war between heaven and hell rages around him on earth.

Cue the sequel.

Occurring simultaneously to War's battles on Earth, his Brother Death is awakened in the abyss, and sets out on his own quest to clear his brother's name.

Ok, I already posted up I'm psyched for Halo 4 this year. However, I'm WAY more excited for this one! Gears of War Judgement! Coming 2013! I always liked Halo more playing with friends and lately I've played more by myself so Gears suits that a little better.

Upcoming Game Releases

I figure we have a thread like this in the movie section, why not one in the gaming section too? This thread will be not be console/platform nor genre specific. Basically, if its an up incoming game, and it peaks a little interest, bring it here.

To abide by forum rules, if it, or you think it may, poses possible offensive material that may otherwise be in violation of such rules, use some sense and filter it.

I know a few I'm looking at include:
Dust 514
Grand Theft Auto 5
(If rumors hold) Forza Motorsport 5

And more recently Watch_Dogs, which basically looks like Assassins Creed for the modern/future world.

I'll second the GTA 5 and Forza 5. I know GTA will be good, I hated it got delayed but it was probably for the best, and I'm sure Rockstar will have it out for holiday 2013.

As for Forza 5, I haven't been keeping up with a lot of rumors for it, but hopefully its a next gen release. Forza 4 and Horizon are both very fun games, but 5 needs to come out on Xbox 720 so they can take it to the next level. I also think it would be better if they waited until next year if it does come out on 720. Day/Night cycle, weather, more tracks, and maybe some type of open world or free roam are what it needs IMO. But the free roam still needs to work with Forza level physics.

Probably won't get a 720 this year, but who knows, if the launch lineup is good enough I'd reconsider.

Forza 5 only comes out on the xbox one. It sucks. I can't justify spending 500 bucks on a new one yet. I love forza

I want forza 5 also, but like you I'm not spending upwards of $500 for one game. Always figured I'd get a new console in a year or two but I couldn't tell you the last time I played a game on my 360. In all likelihood GTA V will be the last game I buy for it. MAYBE Ill get Arkham Origins, but I'm just growing out of gaming I guess.
