New headlights

So, I am considering the purchase of some headlights for the X. Just something a little different. Mainly because I feel the headlights are kind of boring and need to add a little more "class", if you will, to the style.
These are the ones I am currently stuck on:

Found this on Google... I think they may be a winner..

Any thoughts on anything better?

Tempting. Does it come with a harness that simply plugs into the bulb socket on the factory harness, or do you have to do some custom wiring for the LED's and the fact that the low and high beams are no longer in one bulb?

here's the HID's in them. there is more glare above the cutoff than normal because it JUST rained. the pavement is wet and is reflecting light

it SAYS plug and play but its not. You need to buy a female (i *think* it's female) 9007 socket to make them plug and play. the socket gets you a positive high beam wire, a positive low beam wire, and a ground. just match up the positives to each and tie both grounds together. the halo's, eyebrow leds, and under leds are individual positive & negative wires. I tied all three together and tapped the positive for the corner lights so they come on w/ the parking lights. Some people tap the turn signal so the big leds flash w/ the turn signal. the halos are NOT bright at all. you can't seen them when your headlights are on

Good to know, Delta. That's not bad at all. Maybe one day I'll consider them. Where do you get a female 9007 socket?

I was looking at the same ones on Andys Auto for when I swap out to HID. Glad to see they work, I was a little worried they wouldn't look right.

i got mine used off of another member on TNX, but i don't see how the wiring could be all that difficult. hardest part is the socket which most autoparts stores carry.

I really like those lights but unfortunately there aren't any options for 00-04 in projectors. Thats why I made my own:

I say definitely get those headlights. The performance of projectors is amazing as you can see from the pic how wide and smooth the beam is.

Omg do it! I soooo love the look of these headlights and am quite jealous of those that have them... :p Someday I'll get around to it. But till I do, you should!

I had something like this on my previous car and loved how they looked but how they preformed was still something to be desired, they were ok but not awesome, maybe had I gone hid kit they would have been better

Totally jealous of your ability to just buy headlights w/ projectors already in them. Us Gen 1 trucks are relegated to the "custom retrofit" category. Which I love the look of, it's just a PITA.

I have them too, but I find they don't put out as much light as the original lights do. I supplemented with a set of fog lights to get that lost light back.

No, on my lights they say not HID compatible... I don't know if y'all's do. Have y'all had any trouble with HID's

You bought projectors that aren't HID compatible?

They didn't say they weren't, so I assumed they were.

I woulda sent them back but maybe call the company and ask why they aren't they might just say that because HIDs as "intended" for off road use

Now that could be a possibility, I'm planning to fit HID's anyway. I was just saying they say that.

No one makes a replacement headlight with projectors that are compatible with hid. The ones for 2nd gens are projectors designed for halogen bulbs and from what I've seen are worse than stock headlights

First off love the sig

Second I don't think they can actually advertise as HID compatible since they are going into cars that are not factory hid compatible as in not aimed at the factory or regulated by auto manufacturers regulations. Technically any aftermarket hid kit is for "off-road use only" that being said it would make sense that they would cover their asses and say not for his use. I'd say its worth a try if it doesn't work you can sell the hid kit and go back to you're standard output but I guarantee the HIDs will have you seeing better

Its not that they can't advertise them as hid compliant but the fact that they wouldn't make something that's not OE compliant. It doesn't help that projectors need to be precise and these are cheap, thus why they have terrible lighting with halogens or HID

True if you look at TRS they adjust the lenses to be precisely the right distance from the tip of the bulb that is being used

hid's work JUST FINE in them. It seriously improves the light output over the stock headlight housings. PLUS it has a decent cutoff line as well so you are not going to blind oncoming traffic like the idiots that put HIDs into the stock housings w/o projectors.

I know, I ran HIDs in mine from day one. Never had an issue with them overheating. not once.
