It's finally starting to come down. So do I bed line it to match my "A" pillars (and eventually the rest of the interior plastics) or do I airbrush it to match my theme?

Bed line it? I just bought an Xterra that the headliner is not ripped, but it is falling down quite a lot. Looking for suggestions. Thanks!

You can bed line it or reupholster it. Look through some of the build threads there are people that have done either of just depends how much work you want to put into it.

Ok. I want to go the bed liner option. Rust-Oleum has spray cans for about $7 a can. How many cans should I order? Hopefully someone on here has done this and therefore can tell me how many cans I need. Thanks!

    re: the poll

I wanted to vote "NEITHER". But that's just me. I exist more in a "restoration" state of mind than a "modification" mode. Do with yours as you see fit.

I won't go hatin' on ya.;) It's all good, and hopefully, we're all friends (who may have differing opinions).

I think you're talking about my decision to do the headliner with bed liner? I don't want to spend a ton of money on a 16 year old vehicle. Also, it is all black inside. Black leather interior and black carpet, so I think a black roof will be just fine. Being that my exhaust is bad, I am going to install a Flowmaster Super 44 exhaust system on it and hopefully delete all cats as well. I actually wanted a quiet Xterra, but I think it's going to be cheaper to make it loud. And, I figured the Nissan engine would sound terrible with an aftermarket exhaust, but I listened to a few exhausts and I think they sound pretty good.

Well, strictly speaking, the reply was to the original poster who created the poll, but my bad, I didn't look to see how old the original post was. Nevermind. Good luck with your project.

Gotcha. I think black leather interior, black carpet, and a black Bedliner sprayed headliner will look good. It won't be perfect but for a 16 year old vehicle I think it will be fine.

Ok question guys. I go tomorrow to pickup the Xterra. I am 99% sure it is a supercharged version. So, gas prices in my area are $3 a gallon and a SC version gets 14MPG IF it is running in perfect condition. Mine at the very least has exhaust leaks. So, I could be getting less than 14MPG. Then I read that I need to use PREMIUM fuel? That's $4 a gallon. I went from a 2011 Hyundai Sonata Limited Turbo because the 2011 year model was insanely fast. 278HP but a TON of torque. Also, the waste gate could be adjusted, so I was getting 28MPG in the city. Then I went to a Prius. Don't anyone ever buy a Prius. Sure you save gas money, but all that money goes into replacing hybrid battery cells or the whole battery or other expensive things that the car requires. And then now I am getting ready to use an Xterra as my daily driver. I really hope it's not a supercharged Xterra, but it has the 17" supercharged rims and it is fully loaded. I'll know tomorrow when I pop the hood. I've had other vehicles that said "Premium Fuel Only" and I used either mid grade or I used 87 octane and then sent a can of Sea Foam into the gas tank to keep it working well and I never had any problems. I bought a Town and Country mini-van to be my vehicle but it had a lot of problems. So it sat all Winter and it is with the mechanic right now. Before I bought the Xterra, my plan was to drive the 2008 Town and Country. It can haul big items, even better than the Xterra, but the Xterra has a tow hitch on it. The van only gets 16MPG at most, so 14MPG isn't that much worse. But if I have to put premium fuel in it, then it will be MUCH more expensive, too expensive. I also wanted the Xterra so I could pull vehicles back from the auction, but I just don't know about 14MPG AND Premium fuel! I had the option to buy a 2008 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer 5.4L V8 4X4 for $1200 but it needs a transmission. I found a tranny for $400 and got a quote to install it for $680. But it's worth a ton more compared to the Xterra. But the Expedition gets 12MPG so I avoided it, but 12MPG on regular fuel is better than 14MPG on Premium fuel. So I don't know what to do. I love the color of it and the condition of it and I love the black leather interior and all the options, but I'd be tempted to trade someone who has a non-supercharged model if I have to use Premium gas.
