Need Help, My Front Struts Are Leaking!!!

So I just got a suspension lift on my Xterra and also asked the mechanics to check out the shocks and struts on my 2011 X 4x4 and they said my struts are leaking and that my rear shocks are also worn as neither parts of the vehicle have never been replaced. Right now, I’m trying to find a good assembly I can take up there to them and just have them install instead of order and install or use whatever it is they’ll use. So if you guys have any suggestions, please leave them below for affordable, but effective replacements for an X running an ARB bumper, 2.5in suspension front lift, and 1.5in wheel spacers on all four feet for some front struts and rear shocks assemblies. I’m just torn trying to find what to run that wouldnt annihilate my bank account.

Loaded question and without fully knowing your budget, harder to pin.

However, a good set up is OME for the front. http://nissteclifts.com/Old-Man-Emu-Front-Lift-W-Shocks-05-Frontier-Xterra_p_546.html

If needing just the strut itself, I recommend the Bilsteins. A front and rear combo can be had for not a bad price. http://nissteclifts.com/Bilstein-5100-Front-Height-Adjustable-Rear-5100-Series_p_181.html

But if you already have something like Radflo’s in the front you can revert to stock and use spacers like I did when mine blew and needed rebuilt. If this is the case, contact Radflo for rebuild.

buy once, cry once.
do it right the first time being you gotta replace everything.

what are ya running in the front & rears right now? OMEs, Radflos, & Nisstec MK84s are good coilovers for up front.

Bils, radflos (big $$), and OMEs are good for the rear (OMEs are good when paired w/ their Dakar leaves)

but that front/rear Bil combo would be perfect if you're running stock coils up front.

He says nothing has been replaced but it's lifted so I'd imagine it's a spacer/ shackle lift.

Budget minded? Get a set of 5100s to go on it. Swap that front spacer for a 1" lift and use the front 5100s for another 1" and you'll have a pretty good setup.

If it's a 2.5" lift and he's not using aftermarket UCA's his coils must be shot since there's no mention of CBC. The super budget option would be just buying a Bilstein 4600 and reusing everything else but I don't think that will be too great with the amount of sag the coils possibly have. The 5100 I guess would help some with the lift but preloading an already worn out coil prob won't ride too great, the shock damping rate might be too soft for a really bouncy coil spring.

I love all the info in this thread. Seems like you guys have the question answered.

But...personal pet peeve

The X doesn't have struts. It has shocks on all 4 corners.

A strut is when the damper (shock) forms a structural part of the suspension system geometry. (i.e. No upper control arm. Only damper.)

The X has upper and lower control arms. The suspension geometry will not fall apart if you take the shock out.

Yes. I'm a crazy person.
