I have enough $$ saved up for either a rear tire carrier bumper or new tires(still on stock rugged fails). Which would you do? I'm leaning toward tires...

Tires are a necessity and a safety item. You will have to live with them every day. They will also give you the greatest bang for the buck as a modification, completely changing how your truck handles on and off road. They will also change the looks of the vehicle a lot more than you might think.

A bumper is a "nice to have" item. They are cool and handy, but not nearly as important as good tires.

Yeah. My tires are in good shape but they are the crappy stockers. Tires it is. Didn't really need much convincing. LOL

If your tires are toast get the rubber, especially if you are out on the trail alot. If your not going to be on the trail for a while and can afford the tires before you get back on the trail alot... get the bumper.

I got mastercraft courser axt tires and they are really good, got them in 285/75/16 (33s) for $715 installed. They are the exact same thing as cooper discoverer at3.

Boxers...and, make sure to get FIVE tires...because you need the spare to be able to be in your rotation, and, able to be the same size if swapped on off road....and get you OUT of whatever killed your other GOOD tires.

:D

And make sure your spare fits somewhere, as you don't have a carrier....

TIRES! My rugged trails were just about gone at 28K miles! I always rotated and took care of them too. They appeared great till about 20K some miles. Started wearing fast etc.... So went with firestone destination A/T. Awesome A/T tire! Love them. Rated #2 A/T Tire on tire rack. Why the rugged trails wore so fast? No rhyme or reason. I have heard from friends and other members this tire is crap. Really was not looking to buy tires this early, but being thats all you have between you and the road....
