Interesting how that Element works, As with not toxic? or Deprive human of oxygen ( Or delayed Kill haha ) . Just grab a 10 foot PVC pipe for extend range! haha.

Wonder what the fire Marshals think of it? as how it will fit with states Fire codes??. Will they make one that will fit a 747 Fire tanker?.

I Have small Fire Extinguisher in both Doors. Girl Friend some how broke the trigger guard.. Next thing I know.. inside the cab is Instant Fog!!. Amazing we did not crash going 55 to zero.. and doors Wedged open to Vent.. as were coming to sudden stop. Note to self Check trigger safety OFTEN!!!!!

POWDER MESSY!!!!.. Element.. No powder mess!! good!!!

We made a pretty large statement and we sent the information to just about every fire training or fire dept possible here in Nevada, all over California and the Pacific NorthWest, and to the surrounding opportunities and contacts where are second Midwest location is going up in Michigan.

Even have our Mac Tool guy peddling them because of the simplicity and convenience of the device, its a overtly reliable no-brainer to be honest. ;)

Element works by fighting fires on the molecular level. Its gas chemically interrupts the chain of combustion effectively extinguishing a fire without making any mess and without removing surrounding oxygen.

Unlike a dry chemical extinguisher that combats a blaze by depositing a large amount of solid powder on the fire, an Element extinguisher fights a fire by releasing a gas. This gas attaches itself to the oxygen surrounding the fire robbing its ability to stick to the chain of combustion (without affecting ones ability to breath that oxygen). The goal is therefore to use the gas coming out the Element extinguisher to create a ‘cloud of containment’ around a fire. Creating a cloud that prevents any outside and un-attached oxygen from getting to the fire is essential and is the same strategy that should also be used with a Halon/Halotron or CO2 extinguisher.

The two worst things you can do when fighting a fire with a gas extinguisher is to be too close or to rush the process. Being very close to a fire means that a cloud cannot be formed blocking any new oxygen that will continue to feed the flame. This is particularly problematic in an isolated pan situation where being too close will only chase the flames around. Rushing the process by moving the extinguisher around a lot also prevents a cloud from being formed and diminishes the performance of the extinguisher.

The best technique is to take advantage of the long discharge time offered by the Element extinguisher and to approach a fire from a moderate distance progressively getting closer to its source. During the approach, move the extinguisher slowly around the fire always directing towards the center. This will contain the fire and allow the gas the ability to work.

Tight areas with lots of pockets (like the engine bay of a car) brings out the strengths of the Element extinguisher as the gas, which is heavier than air, will fill all the voids not directly accessible; both putting out a fire and preventing a re-flash.

So wind would be BAD for this. That many of us tend to be out in woods or hill top's That winds would be a issue.

Really nice to see this come to market.. another tool for the Tool box. Might tough when human catches fire to chase them down with it.. and tell Roll in the fog. roll in the fog!. ;-)

Well here's the thing The standard fire extinguishers of the last 100 years would have the same issues in wind, so two things to consider here.

a]. Most people adhere to not having any open ground fires when there is wind if we were to partake in this as an outdoor scenario as you suggest rather than creating a State, multi-state, or National disaster. Let's say your friends Jeep JKU bursts into flames [don't laugh they do lol]. Your 5lb traditional extinguisher is blowing powder everywhere but where you really needed it and.., b] Your 5lb fire extinguisher lasts 11 seconds in one hand, and an Element E-50 that lasts 55 seconds.. Which would you think Siri on your Apple watch would she say you should be equipped with whether windy or not? o_O;):):D

But that Stop, drop, and roll ish' was funny tho lol

How many years before the E50 should be replaced?

Element's solid construction, no moving parts, and lack of compressed gas (unlike a traditional fire extinguisher) means it will never need any service or upkeep. In addition the solid chemical that makes up the Element extinguisher has no effective expiration.

Element has been tested to work effectively in temperatures from -140F to +320F. Moreover Element's solid construction and no moving parts makes it unaffected by harsh environments or humidity. Element can safely be stored in damp and wet environments, provided that the yellow cap covering the tip stays present allowing the tip to remain dry.

Element can safely be stored in vehicles that live in hot climates.

I'm definitely down for three for me and I will need get a few more as gifts for others. These would be perfect for boats, too!
I love how easy they appear to be to use and handle. They cover fuel, electrical, and chemical fires, everything we're going to experience if our rigs catch fire. What I appreciate most, though, is they are inert - They're not going to fail due to heat, humidity, cold weather, or even in the rain. The two fire extinguishers I have had for years are still in the green, but due to expire in the next few months - do I take them to a fire house to have them emptied and refilled, or do I get these new Element sticks.

One last comment - What I really appreciate about the Instagram media image is all the burning Jeeps (and the one Polaris).
LoL.
Basically the message to xTerra drivers is we need these to keep our Jeep friends safe.

Not going to lie, with both my Father and Step father both being Vietnam era Navy men telling me stories of ship fires out at sea.. a boat/ship fire would actually be terrifying to me as it put's two out of four fears of mine together, not favorable odds to me. Drowning and/or being burned alive and I was one of the top swimmers on the swim team in HS.

Would depend on your thoughts of long term [safety] investments in comparison to aesthetic propaganda and your emotional attachment to either or and referring back to a previous statement:

"In North America, Underwriters Laboratories (UL) is responsible for the certification of fire extinguishers. UL does their testing to a standard that contains a form (physical shape) component followed by a performance component. Because Element's form does not fit inside of UL's guidelines of what a traditional fire extinguisher looks like (i.e. compressed gas cylinder with a hose and measurement gauge) it is immediately passed over for performance testing. At present UL is being campaigned to update its standards to recognize the different form offered by Element and allow it an opportunity to be tested and certified.

Until the standards are updated Element cannot be used to substitute extinguishers in regulated environments that require a UL (or UL endorsed) certification. Element can however be freely used as an supplement to the extinguishers used where regulation exists.

There are no restrictions in non-regulated environments (car, home, personal garage, etc.) allowing Element to be used freely.

LOL.. Not sure if you follow us on IG or seen the post but someone from the Toyota FJ community pointed that out and again, not going to lie. when searching "vehicle fires" about a good 75-85% of usable pics were all Jeeps, and all on fire or burnt to the frame work. Yeeesh! but comical in a way.

We haven't considered gift wrapping for gifts but.. lol If you were giving them for Christmas gifts we could manage to offer that and even ship directly to friends & family if need be or still gift wrap them and then send to you too.

Ha..

Well, we have a new company coming onboard, they've pretty much got the market cornered on anything you can imagine as far as sea-faring handheld flares, flare-guns, signal smoke, PLBs and EPIRBs, USGS Visual distress signals, to meet day/night time signalling for help for the recreational & commercial boater for over 50 years so.. Red, Orange, or white?

Or we have a host of colored Snap-Light sticks, box 10 count; Infrared, orange, white are special order. Blu is only 7 hrs life/all others are 12hrs for all you Vegas EDM fans or Burning Man - https://www.12degnorth.com/product-page/tactical-light-sticks

Also great for HOBO fishing!.
Take dental floss ( nylon type) Tie a hook, add weight. Attach Chem light to Set desired Depth of hook.
Chem light becomes your Night time Bobber. Lay's Horizontal in the water.
other end tied to Beer can. That becomes your Real.. ( empty, Or pop can if minors). Would not use for Salmon Or steel head.

When yea get a Fish, Reaction is Nice.. Just think JAWS & The Floating barrels. ;-)
