Absolutely love my Kershaw Blur. I’ve carried one for at least the last 18 years and through my 4 deployments. Just with I could own ( legally) one of the launch series but unfortunately they are a prohibited item in Canada

Have to reccomended the ESEE AG3 or Xancudo fixed blades.

AG3 is carbon steel so it'll rust pretty easy but if you care for it it'll be fine. Easier to field sharpen.

Xancudo is S35VN stainless. Holds and edge really well and I've been EDC mine for several years. Probably my favorite fixed blade.

It may fall a bit short but I love carrying and using my Esee CR2.5 for EDC tasks and..cheese haha. But like Terry said, you've got to condition the blade as it's carbon. Tends to hold an edge doing what I do and easily takes an edge..

The CR2.5 is an awesome knife as well. I dont carry mine nearly enough anymore.

The leather sheath with it or the JG3 makes carrying easier outdoors but a JouFuu ISP sheath for any of them if the perfect way to carry IMO.

I've been checking his site every few days for months now looking for a sheath for my Xancudo but... I may have to get with him and just have him do me one up the way I want it.

He only does special orders a few times a year. I wish he would ramp up production a little but his quality is worth the wait.

You might be able to hit the ESEE groups on FB and get someone to sell you one they aren't using.

Gerber also offers a good first responder/military discount, if you fall under either of those categories. I ordered a custom Fastball a couple of years ago, and I think it was around $100, maybe less. Also, Sypderco offers a 50% pro discount, I don't think I purchased any of my Spyders at full retail. Benchmade's discount used to be good, but they lowered it and now it's just about the same cost to purchase retail.

Yea, I have numerous knives that need attention. I need to set up my station and get busy. Here in the last several months I've just been switching knives as they dull.

I use my Lansky sets mainly for repairs like chips or when a used knife comes to me with some funky edge work.

Several years ago I decided I didn't want to rely on a "system" as such, for basic edge maintenance. I have several Arkansas stones around the house and a Lansky axe puck (two sided stone) in my pack and I practiced until I can pretty readily put an edge back on anything except the most out of whack edges.

I try to keep my blades in good enough shape from day to day that a light stropping is all most of them ever need.

I say all this to try and encourage people to do the same. You never know when you'll find yourself with a dull knife and out of reach of you "systems". Free hand sharpening is a good skill for anyone to have.

I have the work sharp field sharpener in my work gear for that. this blade was dull from the factory and I want to start off fresh. doesn't help that I'm dealing with 304 Stainless that doesn't like to keep a nice edge either

Bottom of a coffee cup.. helps some times, for sharpen a blade.. and a Vehicle window edge for a fine finish.. Gots to get Creative when in need of a sharp edge. Or buy more knifes for back up to the back up. It's a slippery slope!!. haha
