I pocket carry it in a JouFuu sheath. About what a good folder weighs.
As for the sharpening, here's my take on it.
Get Arkansas stones and learn to put a decent edge on a blade. If an Arkansas stone won't sharpen the steel, I won't own the knife.
You will inevitably convex the edge hand sharpening. So have a system you prefer to put a precise edge back on it when damaged or beyond your ability to hand sharpen.
I use the Lansky 5 stone and Lansky 4 stone diamond kits.
The regular 5 stone does the ESEE 1095 with ease. It will do basic sharpenings on S30V and S35VN (Xancudo) but if you have some damage, the more exotic steels need the diamond stones to cut them fast.
That's my take. I go outdoors away from my Lansky kits. So I feel like it's important to be able to use my axe puck or little diamond rod in my pack to put a usable edge back on my blades till I can make it home.

They seem to have a following. The ESEE Avispa is similar and has a lifetime warranty from BRK.
Ontario has the reputation of being hard to deal with on their warranty.
