Hey Folks

After a little looking around, I didn't see a master thread covering successful LED bulb retrofits. Maybe mod's will sticky this, or point out the thread where I didn't look.

Let's keep it simple.

The product and maybe a before and after pic. No pending projects. Just successful installs so we know they functioned and fit.

Cool thread idea. I have a request for those doing before and after pics. Show what’s being illuminated. Not just what the lights look like. IMO I don’t care that much to stare at the lights, I want them to functionally light up what I’m needing to see.

I’ve put the manufacturer part numbers in parenthesis for ease of searching. All of this stuff can be found on Amazon, and all numbers are current as of 1/2/22. It should also be noted that these are currently in a 2015 X, with exception to the yellow fog lights, which I replaced for purely aesthetic reasons I have not seen any codes or check engine lights. No flicker.

Cougar Motor LED headlights: 9007 can bus ready (K16-9007)
SeaLight fog lights: H11 yellow (SL9LFG00900)
SeaLight fog lights: H11 white (AHDL2H11-E)
Yorkim festoon 31mm interior dome: White (DE3022)
SeaLight 194 interiorWhite (AT10A1-10P-SU)

That’s a pretty good price for Lasfit LED. I’m looking at a set of headlights for my Jetta that’ll run me about $100… because German car.

Interior: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09XWHZPGR/ref=ppx_od_dt_b_asin_title_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

They're bright, they're affordable, and they turn off completely when the doors are shut, unlike the ones they replaced.

Reverse and license plate: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FNH8XZK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Plug & play install, I can't tell how bright the reverse lights are because the previous owner put limo tint on the rear windows.

Brake & Turn signal: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07ZD3T38W/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I've installed the lower bulbs (brake/running lamp) and they're plug and play. I haven't replaced the rear turn signals yet, because I need to figure out the best location to mount the resistors: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B004EDF8HY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1

Any suggestions on that note would be helpful. I'd rather not screw them into the body behind the housings, since I don't know how much heat they actually generate, and I also don't want to drill holes in the (almost rust-free) body, if I can avoid it.

I had a different set (Fahren) that had external fans/wiring/ballast boxes, but they never fit quite right with the 9007 bulb retainer rings. Also, the design of those wasn't great, as they splattered light all over the place, causing a few oncoming drivers to flash me. These don't require the trial & error of manually clocking the bulbs to get the LED chips oriented correctly as they can only go in one way, like the OEM bulbs. The locking rings and wiring fit correctly with no modification, and the bulbs are as bright as you'd expect (no idea if their lumens claims are accurate but it's Amazon so draw your own conclusions). The beam pattern is identical to what the halogen bulbs produce, and the low/high beams function as expected.

No idea about longevity since they've only been in since Wednesday. The only concern I have is the fans discharge heat inside the headlight housing, but given what they're designed for, I'm probably worried over nothing.

I’ve had those in my 2002 for about a year and they work great. Huge improvement!! No problems with heat but I can’t drive all night like you can on the mainland

I'm not sure it's possible to drive all night anywhere, as you'll need to stop for fuel several times. :p

I've had these in since March, forgot to add them here but then again I can now tell you they've worked perfectly since. If you'd rather have white running lights up front, these are plug & play, no hyperflash, and take only seconds to install. They're not bright enough to use as headlights, but they do give it a nice uniform look up front when paired with LED headlight bulbs.

LED all the things.

All my bulbs are from Vleds.com. They spensive. But they're fantastic.
Since now I want to "LED all the things" I can't find the DE3175 on VLEDS site. What did you use? Something that turns off completely and wont drain my battery, unlike the Amazon units I originally purchased and are now sitting in my toolbox.

OK so that's why the dome light doesn't shut completely off when the doors are shut... It's been driving me nuts.

A higher quality unit will (be completely off), since this isn't my daily the cheaper units would drain my battery.
I'm in the same situation since I work from home and only drive a few times per week. I keep my dome light off, but I wonder if the $6.99 specials in the other locations are drawing when they're off? Shouldn't be possible in the trunk and map lights, but you never know.

My issue was the dome light, that one would stay on. I have nothing in it's place right now but I plan on replacing all of the 3175 LEDs I'm currently running just to be on the safe side.

I'm going to say the Auxbeam 9007 is a no-go. The fan enclosure diameter will not clear the retaining ring and then there's the matter of the harness interfering. I had serious de je vu (SP?) so I'm thinking I tried this before. I bet I'll find another pair in the garage next week lol.

Edit: Hold on, I was fiddling with the Auxbeams and found out they come apart. I'm going to try this install again.

The instructions are in terrible Chinglish so it took me fiddling with them to figure out you rotate the black ring 180* and they come apart. You then install the ring bit and then the light body w/ the white retaining ring. It would have been so much easier with the headlight removed or even removing the airbox & battery.

It's a noticeable difference and I feel I may be blinding everyone on the road.

@Prawn That's an amazing difference!... As for the blinding everyone else..... It would seem to me that if the vehicle comes with LED head lights, or driving lights, the oncoming person gets blinded no matter what. It's gotten so bad for me at night, that I have to put my hand up in front of my face to block the oncoming traffics headlights, just so I can see the road in front of me.... so in my opinion, ufck 'em

Thanks for the pics.

It’s how I earned my screen name. My older kid found out I put led lights on the xterra and said “Oh, so you’re That Guy now”. And a star, err supernova, was born. But at least I don’t hit as many things at night now ;)

I had it written down (the brand & bulb number), for the LED replacements for the front round bumper lights & the roof lights on my P4X, but I’ll be damned, can’t find it. Took name and bulb #’s from this thread, looked them up on Amazon & all its giving me are LED headlight bulbs. Anyone able to give me the bulb number I’m looking for? Tanx

Okay, thanks. I think that is the same as a headlight bulb, what about the bumper fog lights? Any # on those or are they the same?
