Led Headlights And Fogs

So I had ordered LED headlights and they all seem to not fit well with the lock ring for my 2003. So again I ordered a different set with some better expectations. Again the base with the fan assembly is large. Well this time I was determined not to send back. So I dun hill billy'ed them. I guess you can call it that, no offense to damn fine hill billy's. I decided to use what I had in the garage at 7 PM. I had .32 safety wire, so here is my solution. They have a double o-ring so they are well sealed and tight, just needed to hold them in.

Looks good, how is the beam pattern and which LEDs did you go with? There's so many options, I have my eye on these:
That is the one's I bought. The build quality seems really good and they are bright. The beam pattern is pretty good with a nice cutoff setup. Now I have them in and adjusted they are a big improvement.

Also with the way they are mounted in, so easy to turn them to get the beam pattern adjusted. Just reach behind and twist, but they are solid with the double o-rings and a snug fit.

I read something about taking the front part off to get the lock ring to fit, not sure if Gen 1's have the same lock ring as Gen 2's. I think I'm gonna give these a try. BulbFacts claim these are the best LED's on the market for reflectors housings.

Yes the indexing ring comes off from the front. I did that then slid the lock ring on, but just too thick to press bulb in and get lock ring to lock. I have already broken one new headlight housing pressing too hard and popping the reflector loose inside the housing. Was not doing that again. My method of safety wire seems to work pretty well.

Lighting looks nice and bright. I bought some auxbeam with the cooling fans awhile back and had problems with the driveside keeps going out, im thinking it was due to the way how the fan clutch was spinning. It spins to the driver side so which means hot air will heat soak the driver headlight causing it to die. But no doubt the auxbeam headlight are very bright and nice. But i dont know it could only be me got the headlight warranty in and didnt last two month the switch to the headlight that has heat sink.. no more problem after that..
