Leaky Hatch, possibly

So I bought my 2004 Xterra SE with 71K miles on it, super clean, most of its life has been down in Louisiana and Florida. The dealership said they're replacing the fuel pump free of charge because it did not pass the safety inspection, and they're replacing both back window regulators...ok great (not that they seem to be malfunctioning). One issue I have noticed is 'when it rains, there is water in the back where the jack and jack tools are, also the carpet is wet.' Anyone else have or having this issue? I think its something as simple as replacing the rubber seal (I think), please let me know your thoughts and input on what it could be or what I should do, thanks everyone.

Check the adjustment on your hatch strike. At the bottom center there's the strike and it has two screws. Loosten them just a bit, use a hammer and gently tap the strike toward the front of the truck. Then tighten the screws. You might have to shut your hatch a little harder, but it should ensure leak free performance

Good tips Jay. We'll check out a 2004 Xterra right after we finished installing the rack and tonneau cover on the other truck project for kayak mounts. The current owner mentioned about getting the carpet wet when it rains and is probably coming from the back.
