JK, ok ok guys... maybe I'll turn the X into a Slushy mobile and ride around with huge spinners and an icecream song blaring on my external megaphone. :lolz:

My son lives in Bunnlevel NC so I know how you southerners roll.

Never heard of the place in my entire life.

Don't you all just love a modern day Sothern Belle? She's got a brilliant mind, an SUV, guns and knows how to use them!

P.S. I'd take sushi almost any day over a slushi...

Le Loup - first things first. It's y'all. As in Y'all come back now!

Thank you for the sweet compliments though. But really, I was born and raised in NC my whole life, but I don't fit into the redneck / back woods culture here. Never have, and probably never will.

Touché mon cher...or to put it in Catawbaize "Well shut my mouth". Guess I've been away from home far too long if I had an opportunity to use "y'all" and missed it. LOL

So as you were saying Kris, you have a modification you wanted to tell us all about.

Yeah guys, that picture of her in sweats, in the woods, holding a gun does not look redneck at all y'all.

The safety glasses are a dead giveaway too.

I never go out in public in sweats, other than this day. I didn't realize pics would be taken. I was shooting an AR-15 and a Glock. Those are not safety glasses, they're Oakleys - my ex- as all about safety blah blah blah blah.

I'm going to repeat myself one more time, I'm not redneck. My truck will never ever be redneck. I don't hunt. I don't live on a farm. Yadda yadda.

My secret mod will stay secret until I get it done. Thanks for all the curiosity.

Haha I'll admit. I love to throw in the occasional "Shut your pie hole!"

On another note - Tucker - aka Roadwarrior can vouch for me - I'm nothing close to being redneck.

I can honestly say that Kris is not a redneck.. Might come from the south, but not all of us are unsophisticated, unadulterated, and closed minded. Many of us enjoyed our education and have an open mind towards people.. It is the people in Texas who give just the bad rap..

B&M light bar? Nice, look forward to seeing how Jenny looks with that new addition. I've checked out B&M and I do like their Xterra mods; I'd added them to my own mod list a few days ago. Hope they are easy to install.

P.S. No not all of us from down south are Rednecks, however let's not bash Rednecks as even those who pride themselves on being such are not all closed minded, unintelligent, uncouth,

etc. Some just enjoy being country.

B&M is the easiest to install. Good quality stuff, too.

OMG you used "uncouth" in a sentence.....AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH I swear the only state that I've ever heard that word used in is South Carolina. WOW. Totally just made my day. LoL. (no, it doesn't take much right now)

You need to get out of Tennessee more often. Not that Tennessee is bad at all; I've loved every visit I've made there. I use uncouth fairly often to describe the majority of my neighbors. To be honest, quite a lot of my state's population could be described as uncouth, but we do occasionally have some glowing beacons of cosmopolitan civility and education. Mostly near the college towns. I suppose that probably works out much the same in other Southern states, maybe everywhere else too.

We have completely threadjacked Kris's build thread. I wouldn't blame her at all if she had all these posts deleted. :)

Kris sorry doing my best to get you your thread back...

So tell us about your B&M light bar? How many lights you giving Jenny?

LOL indeed, and I bet you know how far "yonder" is and what "poke" is too, don't ya? :)

Yonder - yes I do.... but that's only because of my great grandma in WV. She used to always say that and "dreckley". Poke - I usedtacould remember that word - but I don'ts no moh.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh the power to delete! Lol, it's ok. I think everything's been cleared up - just as long as we're not so far gone here that no one knows what's really going on with my X.... then we'd be in for trouble.

Glad I made your day.

So tell us about your B&M light bar? How many lights you giving Jenny?

Well, My B&M light bar was a gift from David aka DRBANDKGB back in December. To put everything simply, I have an AMAZING Xterra family and I wouldn't trade them for the world.

I'l working on trying to sell the lights on the brush guard right now just because they're getting pretty old and I just want to re do the whole wiring with them.... so I'm going to start fresh with a new set just like them. I have 2 Hella 500s [to borrow so my brother says] that I plan on putting up top and I had found another set of simular lights for really cheap on Harbour Freight.... plus a discount code that saved me about $6.00

Right now my biggest worries are getting my X ready for a trip across the US. I'll keep all of you updated when it gets closer to time.

Kris,

What is your opinion of the aux lights on the brush guard vs having them on top of the cargo rack/basket?

Seems to me with the fog lights cover you down low but having both the headlights & Aux lights at the same level is a bit redundant. On more than one occasion I’ve ended up with mud covered headlights and wished I’d have an extra set of lights mounted up on the roof.

All though after looking at your snow shots from the big Dec snow of 09 I can see those powerful Aux lights can come in handy down there on the brush guard...

that's awesome....if you need anything let me know, I'm good at finding random parts for cheap (or free)

I'm pretty good at that too. But thanks for the info. I'll let you know if I need anything.

across like to the best state in the west? cali?

mmmmmmmmmmmmmm.... a little closer than that.

I like the lights on the brush guard other than the fact that the covers catch some crazy big bugs and they're hell to get out without a power washer or something like that. I plan on getting a set just like those - yeah I know... lol but I like the way they look, I just want a new pair. They're really cheap on Harbour Freight.com and I found a coupon to save moolah. So I was going to buy the two for the brushguard and two for the B&M lightbar on the roof. If I ever decide to I can just move them to the top like you said... but we'll see how it goes.

Kristen so what all happened to the X when you moved? or is she still broken :(?

Well... she's being fixed as we speak. I should have her back by tonight - as long as she cooperates with her handler. We made day 1 of the trip without any trouble but after resting up at Emily's mom's house just outside of Little Rock, Arkansas we blew a head gasket about 3 hours up the road, on the interstate...... IN 103 degree weather.......sitting for a flipping half hour or more waiting on a cop... then another half just for a tow truck. Ended up spending the rest of that day trying to get it to a shop to look at it, renting a uhaul, and searching for AC. Needless to say, the rest of the trip went ok - but many many things screwed us up like no other. That's a whole other story though. Anyways, Emily's truck is currently broken down too with a blow out clutch, but she's almost got the replacement done. Hopefully we'll be up and running in both the Xs again soon. Until then.... no wheeling. We can't afford to break down again.

Oh.... and if you're really feeling antsy to know more about the head gasket being blown - check out Nissan Sport magazine next month - Allen Cox (the most awesome Nissan mechanic) is doing a write-up of the repair of my truck.
