So we're back from 3 days and 2 nights out in Medicine Bow. Our first night we got what we wanted, the primo camp spot next to the dam at Turpin Reservoir. Unfortunately, I had forgotten that for about 10 days, it's mosquito city. Normally camping in the mountains here isn't really buggy at all, but toward the end of June it cam be kinda rough. So we stayed at the dam one night, and moved up toward Kenneday Peak the 2nd night.

1st night we found a rotweiler puppy who jumped out of the owner's side by side and got him back home. He was a really sweet dog and got along great with my dog, she is actually the one that found him.

On day 2 after we dropped off the camper in a nice spot, we trekked up Kenneday Peak which is nearly 11,000 fee in elevation. About a mile from the top I had to deal with a downed tree across the trail, which grew increasingly narrow and rocky. Toward the top it was all rocks and the Xterra ate it up like it was nothing. The only 2 other vehicles that got up there were side by sides.

A dirty X is a happy X

This old logging cabin is melting into the scenery

Even the X enjoyed the view at 10,810 feet
