Kansan reporting in.... I keep seeing this 1st gen Red X running around town that looks beefy. Saw him out on Old 56 hwy in SW Olathe and then saw him again today up on i-29/635 south of the airport... Red truck, big black XTERRA letters up the side, blacked out wheels. I always see him going the other way and we're both going like 65, so haven't been able to snap a pic...
Bumping the post for any new Kansas Xs since I am technically on the border from Kansas to Missouri and actually at college I am 20 min from Missouri and 30 min from OK sometime us Maxterras should get together for some wheelin in Fort Scott or something Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yeah another local X and I are trying to start up a club and pick weekends to go ride and you guys would be close enough to join us or the other way around. Let me know what you think.
Cool! any place you recommend in the area to check out for some parts or work done? (exhaust, suspension, mechanical, fabrication bumpers etc...)
Do you mean fabrication, or junk yard, or shop to order parts through? I haven't found any awesome shops to have work done. I do know this place on 5th Street in Kansas City called KC Engines and they come highly recommended for engine rebuilds and stuff like that. For parts the Pick N Pulls in KC sometimes have a few Nissan Hardbodies and Nissan Pathys from the 90s, never any Xterras though. But you can pull suspension parts from both of those as well an a few other interchangeable parts
Hi, new member here. Reaching out from Jackson County (yes, the one in Kansas). Currently own 2 Xterras, an alpine green 2001 5-SPEED, and a yellow 2002 AUTO (the wife's ride), both 4x4's.
Close enough . . . you're like that weird cousin that we only see at Easter! (Just kidding - I love Nebraska.)
I live in MO, but work in KS. I also get my X serviced at State Line Nissan. Anyone still active on this thread?
Well, I got a notification, so I s"semi-active". I bought my wife's X at State Line Nissan, and had it serviced there for years, until we moved out of the area.
Are you still in Kansas? My in-laws live near Wichita. I actually bought mine at Olathe Nissan, but got tired of driving all the way down there, especially since they don't provide loaners and won't/can't wash cars that they services. State Line is closer, usually tries to give me a similar loaner ride (pre-COVID...) and washes my X every time.
Any fun places to go wheeling out around there? Do you ever get out to the off road park in Manhattan?
Not that I know of, but I'll have to confess that our X doesn't get much off-road use. I've never been to the place in Manhattan, either. It wouldn't surprise me if there were some wheeling opportunities around here, like maybe on the reservation. I DO know that there used to be an active mud-racing group in the area.
