You would need stand alone fuel management, ignition, and rewire temp sensors etc. Also, I dont know if Gen 1 transmissions are controlled via ecu.

Talk to the diesel swap expert, and follow his lead, an EMP will still KO a carb'd engine, because it's spark plugs and wires and distributor (etc) will all be dead.
Diesel is the way to go there, mechanically controlled fuel pump to control the flow rate and a mechanical pump instead of electronic, then you're flowing even with no electricity...

Remember, diesel not gas... Snag a cummins and manual trans with manual tcase out of a dodge pickup and a shoehorn

A small block front sump Ford will fit w/ a sub frame, 302 up to a 427 although anything over the 351 will be very tight. The 700R4 tranny will bolt up to the small block and fit in the current location.

Thanks guys I appreciate all of the support. I was able to go back to work today and we all actually had a really good nights sleep. The Con-Solo through up first thing this morning soooo we're hoping it doesn't turn into anything more than a one time thing, but when it rains it pours. We've had unbelievable support through all of this and we're making it. I do think we're going to be done having kids at two unfortunately.

Thanks Kelly. With Connor her ppd was minor but this time it presented itself much differently and was much more intense. That coupled with the hypertension made things really hard. I need a vacation now. 18 days til my next business trip.
