ok looking to get some feed back regarding this rifle.( Photo taken from Google)

and before somebody posts just get an AR 15, keep in mind I live in Canada, and can legally own an AR 1, to be able to shoot one you need to be part of a shooting club and can only shoot it at an approved range. this rifle is considered a non restricted rifle and I would be able to go shoot at any range or farmers field and be able to hunt ( if I so choose) with it

now that being said, I have read reviews online and on various forums and know about the issues with the earlier rifles, and the issues with various of their other calibre rifles.

my biggest question here is does someone here own one and what is an honest review.

A side hobby of my own. My question for you is the intended use? You mention possibly hunting with it but even for an AR15 specifically; if your hunting coyote, Ferrel pigs, goats and or antelope jack rabbits.. maybe smaller BIG cats. Unless going to a AR10 "caliber" and in that sense. 9MM Luger aka 9x19MM is a relatively low powered pistol cartridge, considered by many to be the minimum effective self defense cartridge.

Whereas .308 (AR10) Winchester and its cousin 7.62x51 aka 7.62MM NATO is a high powered rifle cartridge effective against medium and some large game and personnel at long ranges, with the right rifle and shooter. You can't really hunt much of anything with a rifle chambered for a pistol cartridge, other than small game at close range.

So if its small game and or self defense, could be a fun but ideal answer to your needs. But understanding the territory you are in, myself i would consider whether the caliber and the firearm meet the intended needs. My $ .02 is more centered around the function and use than the specified "device" if you will. Sorry if it wasnt much help.

I am curious as to Canada's laws (Statutes) in relevance to the differences to the JR 9mm Carbine and an AR15? Especially considering the caliber. an AR 15 is basically a .22 caliber bullet with more powder behind it.

Both seem mag well fed, collapsing stock, the pic above looks to be a 16" MAYBE an 18" barrel, and semi-auto.. and less not forget seemingly military styled and black. lol

I would have to assume Canada has specific laws based off provinces? or is it a blanket law like the US would institute as a Federal law?

Canada’s firearm laws are federal and doesn’t matter what province you live in. They classify every fire arm into 3 possible categories:

Unrestricted: shotguns, and standard hunting rifles. These can be used for hunting or target shooting.

Restricted: pistols and some rifles like AR15. Can only be shot at approved ranges and need proper licences and permits to own and transport to and from range

Prohibited: a grand fathered class of firearms that your only allowed to own not allowed to shoot at ranges. Example of prohibited firearms are

  • a handgun with a barrel length of 105 mm (4.1 inches) or less;
  • a handgun designed or adapted to discharge 25 or 32 calibre ammunition;
  • a rifle or shotgun that has been altered to make it less than 660 mm (26 inches) in overall length
On the hunting comment it would be for small game like rabbit. Nothing too big.

I fully understand the differences between 5.56 and 9mmx19. I’ve carries both for work while deployed.

Wow.. I actually think California and New York are better places to own guns than Canada my friend.

So in a handgun, there is nothing smaller than a compact and sounds like a snub-nosed .38 or 357. [all 9mm like cal.] are out of the question equally.

seems for your purposes/legislation it may work. Whats parts resources and market support like for it, have you checked?

For parts and supper if it’s not ITAR restricted. I can get it. But it will be a bit more. If I do get this. I don’t really want to dress it up too much. Thinking of a descent holo sight, front grip and sling mount( most likely a single point)
