Took the gen 2 for a little road trip down to GLX Xtoberfest. since i wasnt gonna trailer the gen 1 down, id figure id throw the CVT on the this one and head on down. only wheeling this thing did was in the muddy campground.
greetings mortals. so back in winter i did a thing to the Gen 2. i put a tire carrier on the back. now i know what youre thinking, "a Wilco carrier? Bruh". yeah yeah but here is the thing im noticing. in my 10 years of Xterra related foolery. we went from only shrockworks makes a carrier to everyone and their mother makes a carrier now what seems to me back to just shrock. i know there are one or two alternatives still around but you still get shrock wait and near shrock prices. most of the guy that i know that built them as a hobby now no longer do it. i tried ever since i bought this X off a GLX buddy to try to get a swing arm made since it already has a Bucksnort bumper. so i said, "frick it" and bought the Wilco. it was on clearance and these have come a long way from what they were before.
also i still have the wheels spacers to throw on but ive been too lazy for fender trimming.
hey gamers, so ive had a pretty poggers weekend. i find out that the rear diff just crapped the bed. the spider gears are toast. thankfully the ring and pinion seen to be unharmed. of course she does this too me when im working on the SAS for the Gen 1 again.... bitch.
this isnt even a trail break, it just up and did it on the road. heck.
