I am anxious for the 5. From the looks of it the Samsung Galaxy S. III is supposed to be pretty sweet too. I am a little bias to Apple though

Nah, the 5 looks way too fragile. It's REAL thin. I'll wait til the 5's come out and the 4's drop to $99.00. $200+ for a phone, not to mention I'd have to buy TWO. One for me and the wife.

I'm about to get a company cell phone and I'll just be stoked to get something better than this nokia brick slightly smarter than a razr phone. I'd love to get an iphone but I don't know if they'll get me one lol.

Not much is being said, similar to when the 4s was in pre-announcement. I just looked at this site and "Know Your Mobile" said that the announcement would be on Aug 7. I'll believe it when it happens. As for features, with the 4s, there were many wild speculations including a new form factor. There are always new form factor rumors around all iDevices. Most of the purported design leaks are easily created, and I tend to believe that Apple has improved their device beta testing so another iPhone 4 incident doesn't happen again.
When will it be announced? When Apple is ready. When will it be released? Again, when Apple is ready but I'm leaning to another October release. As for features, I'll believe what it has once Apple says what it has. Everything else is rumor and conjecture.

I'm almost ready to upgrade. I love my 4, but I'm having one problem with it. My home button sometimes doesn't work. I either have to press really hard or try again later. I"ve tried what some have called "recalibrating," but it only works to some small extent. Its no big deal really, just irritating from time to time.
The 4 is a damn sexy phone, but I miss the indestructible-ness of the original iPhone.

Also watch the number of apps you've run. Apple never really unloads them so unless you go into your task bar and manually close them, they're still taking up resources in the background. I've noticed Maps and Safari are the worst 'native' offenders -- 30 MB for Maps and I've seen Safari take up 80 MB if I have multiple tabs open in it.

yep, i'm in the same boat as you. I went from a 3g to a 4. worked out great too! bought the 4 at the discounted price, then sold the 3g on ebay for MORE than I paid for the 4 at the discounted price. I'm going to do it again when the 5 comes out for both my wife and I.

I'm still not convinced the 5 is any better than my 4s. Until I have a problem I guess I will stick with what I got.

I'm with Fox. I've had my 4 for a little over 2 years and in need of an upgrade. My home button is a dash finicky but if I push it at an angle she's fine.
I've always hated how beautiful it is but have to ruin it by putting it into a rugged case. Hopefully it will be stronger.

Agree. No reason to do a 1 year upgrade. Especially when you'll wind up paying full price for the device. Better to skip a release or two since Apple has shown they do a new device yearly.
Im upgrading every 2 years.. Seems like apple is only updating the phones every year..

I'm with Dr. I've had my 4 and love it. (kinda sad I might have to give it up) but a two year upgrade sounds good to me.

I love that Apple is making the Iphone 5 have a new charger.. And I like that all the leaked videos on Youtube were right.. Apple fans were all "Thats not it.. Apple doesn't leak.." and now they are eating their words.
I wonder how the sales are going to be, I also think that it looks better, more like a "man phone" compared to the 4.. I didn't like it because it was just small, and I am an android fan.

Nailed it on the head there. I am always ready for a new phone a few months after I upgrade but I don't know that I am even gonna get the 5 yet because i like my 4 so much.
Ands I am buying a shiny circle for my girlfriend.

I think the 4S was a more significant upgrade over the 4 than the 5 is over the 4S. The only reason the 4S wasn't called the 5 is because the form factor remained the same, like the 3/3g/3gs. The 5 is certainly a fine device, but since the 3GS, 4, and 4S are all getting iOS6, the main upgrade is the processor. That's not quite enough to get me to upgrade from my 4S. At least not yet.

Yeah, I hadn't thought about the 4G.
I think folks the number of folks that held out when the 4s was released will be all over this. Like the 3GS folks and the 4's like my self. But I still think im going to wait until the next one. I'm not due for another few months. But there's nothing wrong with my 4 so I'm going to wait it out and get the next one so I can get it the day it comes out. So my Renew cycle will line up accordingly

The 4g isn't even an upgrade for me I have it on my 4s. Like someone else mentioned for us 4s users this isn't hardly an upgrade at all especially once ios6 is out.
