I'd like to know the differences between Ipad 2 and Ipad 3?

I've heard that Apple is starting to feel the effects since Steve Jobs is gone and I'm afraid this may have some more glitches/flaws than the previous models.

From what I have read so far, the iPad 3 is not going to be much different. It is thicker, nicer screen but still the same size, better camera, new quad core processor, and siri. This is supposed to be the only changes. If this is true, I will not be purchasing one.

I won't be either....I can get a Ipad2 for about half of that price if I shop around and get the remaining backstocks from other sellers....I'm really curious to hear the reviews because this will be their first product that Steve Jobs wasn't involved in so I'd like to see how things go performance-wise on the Ipad3.

unfortunately they are keeping the ipad 2 and it will be $100 price drop, dont know if that means they are keeping it around in all levels or just the base like they did with the phone but yeah
this looks like it mostly correct

I too was waiting for the ipad3 to be released, figured they'd drop the ipad 2 to around $299. When I saw it only dropped by 100 bucks, I said screw it, may as well get the ipad3.. Started filling out a pre-order on the apple site, then read through the list of included apps.. I noticed siri was not on the list, then I did some googling around, and in fact, siri is not included on the ipad3... what a load... cancelled the complete form right then and there. I know that the ipad3 will always be the same price, it won't go up, so I'll wait and see if they drop the ipad2 more, or if they come out with an ipad3s down the road.

You seriously need siri? really, it would really only be handy on a phone. it has dictation you'll never have to type again

Better camera and screen.. Not with it IMO. I run a ipad2 for work and it's great. Gets a lot done and with a gumdrop case, It's saved my
A$$ in lots of mod days. I don't game on it and I don't need highdef pics.

I don't get the siri thing... Ever time I have seen it used it doesn't work... And I wouldn't count on the iPad 2 dropping more in price either... Just with the $100 price drop places around here couldn't keep them on the shelves

I don't have Siri on my 4 but my wife does, when I have used it, it's worked just fine for me. Actually been impressed when I have used it. I think the dictation feature is cool even if it's been out there for a while in other forms. I just dont know if I could justify owning one. I guess if I had a desktop I could see owning a tablet

I got my new 64gb iPad 3 this week and...it is awesome!

But, I'm also not used to having a computer at my fingertips since drbandkgb always is on it :)

It's fast, it's versatile and... I'm in love :)

ipad vs computer, big difference in capabilities and their intended purpose, I'm not even gonna go there.

iPad (or any tablet) vs Netbook is an easy knockout. tablets in general have apps that're made for the portable device, it's processor and video capabilities, and rarely take full advantage or even strain the hardware that the portable has. Netbooks on the other hand are mini-laptops with downgraded hardware, with a stripped version of the same desktop operating system, trying to run software that wants the full desktop (or even full laptop) hardware and capabilities. It causes a TON of incompatibilities. For example, a game that only needs an 800mhz processor and a certain amount of ram/space may not be able to be installed on a netbook even though it has a 1.8ghz cpu, full gig of ram, more than adequate vid card, and plenty of hdd space because power management software on the netbooks automatically downclock the processor as slow as the operating system can be stable with to save battery life, because a web browser doesn't often need the extra power. There are a lot more disadvantages to netbooks, I really don't care to ramble on about them.

iPad vs other tablets. iPad wins. no contracts on data connection, highest resolution of any "carry it with you device", higher resolution than most high end displays, and even a better resolution than 1080P tv's. Arguably the best processor and video capabilities. By far the largest selection of applications of any "mobile device" and they're all tested for safety before released for download to your device.

Thank you for the clarification dhyde79. I was actually curious the difference...I knew just enough to decide the iPad for what I do is perfect. If I do a lot of typing I will still go to the iMac. However, I do love the versatility of the iPad and being able to take it anywhere with me. However, if I were to have a full blown computer I would definitely go with a MacBook.
