A little late to this thread....... I have Raybestos EHT brakes front and back. Here's a little anecdote to illustrate the effectiveness of the brakes.

Went crosscountry skiing the other day, ended up chatting with a fellow in the parking lot upon return and got really cold just standing there. To drive back home, I had to drive through a small mining town. It was dark.

The posted speed limit is 50 km/h. Apparently according to the RCMP officers who pulled me over I was doing over 80 km/h. This is stupid because I know better. The RCMP are very vigilant about speed limits on highways in and out of small towns.

Well, I saw the RCMP in his truck as I was approaching him and before he turned on his flashing lights. I braked, pulled over and came to a stop within less than 25 metres. C$199 fine. A few more kilometers and the RCMP would have impounded the vehicle.

All this to say...... The brakes work great!

I haven't seen this posted here yet so maybe it helps someone out.

Discount Tire Direct, through their ebay store, has a $100 off $400 deal. They used to do this more frequently but I haven't seen it for quite a while.

You can use the code twice, so the ideal thing for the best discount is if your tires are $200 each, or slightly higher. You buy 2 tires in one transaction ($400) then apply the $100 off code. Then repeat, now you got $200 off a set of four tires.

I just bought some BFG KO2's (285/75R16's) with this deal and it's a better price than I've been seeing anywhere else.

Naturally I just bought a set of 4 for the wife’s car from DTD three weeks ago.

Hopefully others got in on the DTD tire deal. We got the KO2's installed this past weekend and I'm really happy with them so far.

Here's another deal I saw today. Advance Auto Parts has a 25% off code: RMN25

You can use it on a Scangauge II bringing the price down to $120.

Both of our Xterras have Scangauges and it'd be about the first thing I'd install if I got a new one. Very useful for monitoring temps, voltage, fuel, tire pressure, and of course for scanning and clearing codes.

I don't have this tool set, and most likely anyone on this forum already has these basic tools but it looked like a pretty decent set for the money. Six point sockets, not a lot of useless filler items.

ETA looks like this deal is dead, for reference it was Dewalt DWMT81534 205 piece tool set for $99.

Pretty good price on a flex head ratcheting wrench set... $35

I just picked one of these sets up from a local store and the quality seems good, plus it includes 19mm which I didn't have before in this style of tool. This set has 10, 12, 13, 14, 15, 17, 19mm sizes, so it's pretty useful for Xterras.

Allegedly they are identical to Gear Wrench, just produced under a different name.

Best part is no waiting. From their site: "GARAGE SALE / BLEM / CLEARANCE ITEMS ARE One-of-a-kinds, gear that we just made a cosmetic or measurement error on but is totally and fully functional. Even perfect products removed from product video shoots and show display vehicles etc. See what we may have that works for your vehicle and needs! "

Anybody seen anything good for the X for Black Friday?

AFE has their intake and catback exhaust for the lowest I've seen: https://afepower.com/vehicle-platforms/gas-trucks/nissan/05-15-xterra

I had a camelcamelcamel price alert for $499 for this camera lens that I wanted a couple years ago and it never triggered. Just got the email today it dropped to $375. New price was $799 and over the last year had been sitting around $600. I don't do much photography anymore, but for that price and the free returns I figured I better jump on it now and decide later.

If you've already got batteries in the Ridgid 18V system, this looks to be a pretty good combo, mainly for the 3/8" impact but the other tools are handy too:

Tempted but haven't bought this yet.

Are you looking to get the compressor and light? I already have those items. Maybe we could split up the combo, let me know. Shipping cost would make it not as much of a good deal though.

ETA Damn, nevermind, it's now OOS. That went quickly. Apparently a lot of other people thought it was a great deal!

Harbor Freight has this rechargeable work light for $20 if you are on their coupon mailing list. I've got one from a previous sale and it's been a super handy light for projects around the house and garage. Might have to pick up another one.

I'm a light hoe. I could add this to the 20 some odd ones I've got stashed here and there and everywhere!

Oh wait, I've got a few of those already..

Looks like the coupon code expired but there's still items on sale. I have a couple of Marmot jackets and they've been great.

Many years ago I bought a Marmot sleeping bag (can't remember what model it was) and while it fit really well and seemed well made, I froze my arse off in that thing. Ended up returning it after one camping trip. It was long enough ago that it's probably irrelevant to their current models, but I'm curious if you've tried any of their sleeping bags or if you scored anything from this deal.

A suggestion: If you want some serious, well-made outdoor clothing, take a careful look at what Taiga Works in Vancouver, British Columbia offers. Prices are attractive, at least by Canadian standards.

Taiga Works

Two examples:

Taiga offers high quality goose down sleeping bags in a barrel shape that open fully. Versatile.

Taiga also sells thick Polartec 300 long fleece underwear, which can be hard to find. I use them under my Gore-Tex waders while fishing.

I didn’t get anything. All I’ve ever owned from them is a backpack.

Ridgid 1/2" impact wrench plus battery and charger for $149

I got this as part of a set a couple years ago and used it extensively when I overhauled the front suspension on my fairly rusty '06, and for many other jobs since. It has had no trouble removing any fastener I've used it on. This one is considered mid torque (~600 ft. lbs loosening, ~ 500 ft. lbs tightening).

Have you used one before? I’ve legitimately never heard of a flashlight running firmware you have to reset. Wondering if there’s an option for a simple “low, medium, high” or similar where I don’t have to memorize a sequence of clicks.

Yes, I have a couple of these and like them a lot. I agree that having a more complicated UI is not for everyone... but now that I have used them for a while I find them really intuitive and you don't need to use all the features.

For 90%+ of the times I use these, it's just: click to turn on to the last brightness used. Hold down to ramp brightness up. Let go and hold down again to ramp brightness down. Click to turn off. That's pretty much it.

I've been thinking I should start a "Let's Talk Flashlights" thread. But there's probably not as much interest in that compared to the knives thread.

It must not be the same one I got last season as the one I paid that price for tool and battery states 900'lbs on and can't remember off value..

They have a high torque with max 1500 off and 1100 on... that's the only other one I've seen.

I've not found the mid torque lacking for any jobs I've done, but I'm only working on Xterras and Subarus.

That high torque one is probably great if you were doing something on heavy duty machinery or trucks.
