Idle problem

Its started quickly to have trouble lol. About 2h after I test drived it and bought it. The motor was working fine, idled like 1h in the morning They had to boost it to start and tried to charge the battery (they changed it afterward for a new one) and it was idling fine. Purring in fact.

I'm driving away from Canadian Tire, after driving around with it in the city for maybe an hour. Stop and go, no worries. At the light, I brake, the engine start to idle then.. died. I had to restart, put it in neutral and idle it at 1500 rpm to keep it running. Drove it home. No worries on the road, worked just fine. Back home I waited an hour then went back to the city. Drove finex the 2 stops sign I had to break for before the highway were ok. Drove 35min, first light in the city, tried to die on me.

What the hell?

Sounds electrical. Possibly distributor. They're notorious for going bad.

Any visible sign of them being faulty? In the cap I mean? First time working on one

I've changed the oil and the problem drasticly lowered. Maybe it was just that, too much old oil gunk in the system.

Ehh, I think slowing down after the oil change is/was coincidence.. I'm no mechanic tho.

Is the check engine light on? Any codes?

What the hell?

I had a similar issue. Turns out the pnuematic system on transmission what a clot in it. Clean it out and solved the problem. Anither time wiyh similar issue was the master air sensor had a crack it it.
