i want to remove the 2 rear cats

Hi im thinking about taking out 2 out of my 4 cats but will the check engine light be on and will it throw codes? i want to take out my 2 rear cats put on flow-master or something and take out the resonator will i loose back pressure? im basically wondering if im going to have any problems i have the 3.3 if that helps

2000s had down pipes without the secondary's. I think all the O2 sensors are upstream of them. You should not get any codes. Someone else will have to chime in on back pressure.

If you have the 2001-2004 with 4 cats, you can remove them and replace with Walker federal down tubes from a 2001 Nissan Xterra. They bolt up fine and have a bung for the O2 sensor....so no problems.

what about running all the cats but no muffler having 4 cats i would imagine its not obnoxiously loud

No, it's still loud. Casts are there to clean the exhaust, not to lower the noise
