I bought a reasonably clean P4X in NC that will be used in PA. How can I best protect against rust?

Maybe check with an accessory company like Leonard where they do bedliner. They might do treatments like that.

I don't like undercoating. Once it dries out a little and cracks it seals the moisture and dirt against the metal and makes it rust faster.

The POR15 is well regarded but it looks like the OP is looking for a shop to do this work rather than DIY. I think Fluid Film or the like will be easier to find in a shop applied context.

Yep, I spoke with them today. they do not like POR15 and believe it dries, cracks and retains water. They strongly recommend the oil based coating.
