Well here is something different. I posted it on my vehicle thread, but I like it so much that I figure some others here might like it too. Wireless charging in the X. We are fancy now.

The wireless charging module. Got it off eBay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/174365151706

Adhered it to the bottom of the center console tray and ran a micro-USB cable to a fused 12 v plug in the back of the center console. Cheap, easy, and totally hidden.

So if you don’t know, the receptacle is on/off with the keyswitch. Depending on the size of your phone, you may want it to sit diagonally, like mine. The triple coils produce a large field, but the plastic is kind of thick, and the phone is sensitive to moving out of range by moving to the left or right too much. My phone is an iPhone 8+, and it doesn’t move while in the tray like this. It charged my phone from 91% to 97% in 14 miles of driving at around 50 mph, including a trip into the grocery store. The phone was connected to my radio via Bluetooth. Overall, I’m completely satisfied. So I thought I’d share it with ya’ll to do if you feel like this is something you could benefit from.

Super cool and exactly what I've been dreaming up. XterraRising, could you give a little more detail about how you wired it, though? Thanks for the inspiration!

The Qi charger has a micro USB on it to plug in. All I did was run a cord that has a micro USB on one end and a USB that fits a normal 12 V plug through the center console into the arm rest area with the 12 V socket. The plug is fused. I just plugged it into the socket.
