Ok so this is my second how to so bare with me.
I tried to take a bunch of photos as i went, but near the end i was in a hurry so nearing completion i quite taking so many.

This is pretty simple, but a trying process you’ll see. Took me about an hour ran into a few things along the way this is a general overview of how to do this. I read thru a how to on tnx but wanted to write my own over here, filling in some things that he might have missed. So hopefully between the 2 everything is explained.

You will need:

Volant Of course
10mm Wrench
10mm Socket wrench
12mm Socket wrench
Phillips Head Screwdriver
Flat Head Screwdriver
Needle Nose Pliers
Clean Cloth
Flash light (optional it might help you it did me)

Start by disconnecting the battery, cause you’re going to want the ecu to do the auto relearn anyway.

Ok so grab a 10mm socket, unscrew the bolts located at the yellow arrows, 2 on the v6 plastic cover firmly but gently pull up it will pop out I got one side to pop out and figured that was enough. then unscrew the lower set of bolts pointed to on the nissan logo’d plastic pipe bit.

Next take the needle nose pliers and back the squeeze clamp off the plastic pipe bit,

Then take the flat head screwdriver and loosen the hose clamps at the throttle body

as well as at the filter box.

Now you are ready to back the tube off the intake.

Cover the throttle body with a clean cloth as to not get unwanted dust in there.

Pop open your intake filter box and remove the filter, and remove the 3 10mm bolts holding it in place. there is 1 inside the box easy 1 out side the box near the top easy, and 1 at the bottom under the box angry removal you’ll need the 10mm wrench. its a very small space so like 10 mins later you’ll be able to remove the box. There is also a tube attached to the air box, pinch the plastic holder and it will disconnect its self from the box. (I still havent figured out what to do with this so if someone has any idea please let me know.)

Now that you have the bottom of the airbox removed you get to wrestle with the awesome horn relocation issue. First place the top of the factory airbox somewhere safe and out of the way.

You’re going to need the 12mm socket to get the horn mount removed. I got it removed, and thats where it currently is, I was in a rush to get this done so i have to still do this, just going to extend the wires and place the horn in the grill.

Now you can either assemble the intake a head of time, or now, leave the filter out of the intake box. Once you have the intake put together take the curved end and attach it to the throttle body, tighten the hose clamps. Remove the clean cloth before hand of course.

Sorry its blurry cellphone photo+hurry=blurry photo

Next attempt to line up the mounting bolts/screws, Now I say attempt because at first I could only get the top bolt lined up, then with some muscle and wiggle and a flash light, i was able to get the lowest bolt lined up and mounted up while maintaining the portal position, I couldn’t get the middle bolt quite perfect so, 2/3 isn’t terrible, i’ll probably seal it up with silicon later on. Since I’ve gotta mount up the horn, ill be back in there before too long.

Now that you have the box mounted up, tighten up the hose clams from the tube to the box, take the factory airbox lid and pinch the little plastic clip holding the the mass air flow sensor to the box and release it, then take a small philips head and unscrew it keep these screws handy youre going to need them now, toss the factory box lid aside. and take the MAF sensor place the gasket around it and place it in the tube maf hole, pictured here.

Screw the sensor in trying to keep it even.
Almost done

Slide the hose squeeze clamp to the tube extension that you had removed from the plastic tube bit earlier.
Then place the filter inside the box secure it with the hose clamp
Place the Lid on the box, screw the lid on and you’re just about done.
Double check all hose clamps and connections.

Reconnect your battery and start your rig, and let it idle for 5-10 mins, and drive as you normally would, this will set up your ecu properly, as far as I know if you drive like a madman during the first few miles of the relearn process your mpg will be craptastic.

DONE!

Note:
If your truck is messed up by this I want it to be known that I am in no way liable, how could i know what you did wrong unless i was there. If you see something I missed in here please let me know I will edit with any thing that may be beneficial advice or anything that may have been forgotten.

Thanks mac, it took a bit of rethinking the process to install it in the AM and do a write up in the PM, haha
