This is an ‘upgrade’ that’s been going around for the VQ and VK engines - whether there is any gain in hp, mpg, or anything else I do not definitively know. Please check your local rules and regulations regarding emissions, etc., etc., prior to attempting this modification. I take no responsibility for what you do with your vehicle. To give credit where credit is due, the information for which wires go where came from this vq35de thread.

Parts Needed:
-Audi/VW style female connector - easy to find, one example here
-Nissan style male connector - not as easily searchable, here are a few examples:
with wire
pin style
pin style straight from China
-Audi R8 Coils
NGK from Rockauto

Wiring is pretty straightforward. I lost the pictures I took, but here is a diagram. Wires 2 & 4 from the Audi plug merge to the middle wire of the Nissan connector, the other two wires go straight across.

Once completed it’s plug and play. If you are okay cutting into your OE harness you could forgo the Nissan connectors and hardwire the Audi style in.

Thanks for sharing this! The links of the different types of plugs, are those the exact models that you used or are they just generic examples?

The exact models I used are the Audi connectors (which probably any option is fine) and the ‘with wire’ Nissan connector. I also have the pin style from China Nissan connectors on hand and can confirm they fit into the stock harness.

I feel like the throttle response is better. But nothing I have concrete data on. Truck needed a tune up anyway when I did it, so it was just a benefit all around to install new coils.
