I'm game.

My 4 year old's school work dominates my desk, along with pictures and paperwork. I am jealous of your minion and Wall-E, I will be matching your 2nd monitor soon. My desk is neat compared to what it is normally, people ask all the time how I get stuff done like that. I have to epically multitask (hence 2nd monitor) every day, I tell them they should be grateful to be able to keep a neat desk.

And YES, that is your thread on my screen! lol

haha Nice! Whats the fella up on the top of your cabinet? I see eyeballs?!

My desk is mostly pictures of my 3 (almost 4 in march) gobble daughter, anything owls, awards and yes the minion and wall-e. People constantly ask me how old my daughter is... she could pass for mine but shes my best friends lol. I have my truck "To-Do" list with items and prices. Its nice to be able to scratch items off and of course i'm always adding to it.

I will say the double monitor is always a nice bonus. I get frustrated at home seeing i dont have the luxury on my laptop.

Looking at new tires are ya? I see the print out to the right of your computer. lol

That thing on top is George, he is a wacky thing my wife made out of HUGE multiple-colored pipe cleaners and a set of eyeballs. He watches my office while I'm away.

At least your scratching stuff off your list, mine just continues to get longer. I have double monitors at home and I just bought a 3rd, sadly they are all different brands so it's hard to make them look like they belong next to each other. I am going to be getting a new computer @ work in January when they upgrade, when I do I am also getting another monitor.

Yes I was doing my homework, your tire thread made me want to start looking and getting opinions. January for that too. The reason I put it there is one of my coworkers is always printing stuff out at work, usually full page pictures and anywhere between 10-40 pages and puts them in her purse. I put everything (personal) on my desk like that so they can see what I print (I don't carry a bag). Just a habit of having nothing to hide, obviously they do not care but I do.

OMG it's so cute! **Squeeee**

I hate people that do that Sh*t. Because when I go to print like one page of something personal is when a higher up walks by or something then i feel like a butthead. Although I do carry a bag and could just do the same. We should get your a murse! Maybe something like this...

This kinda looks like my supervisors desk, which sucks cause she said in about 2 years I will be running our department. It is just me and 2 women who are about to retire in the quality office. When my supervisor leaves, I will be put on salary around 65k/yr. At that time my desk will probably look like hers!

This is my work space. I face the front of the building so I usually help everyone who comes in. I should be getting a second screen sometime soon.

And yes we do use these dinosaurs still. They've been at the office longer than most of the employees.

My home office is a mess. A few months back it was used as a whelping room for puppies and has never fully recovered. Yes, the drywall under the window was attacked by my dog, she needed to go potty.

My desktop is a chic laying on the sand on a beach, she lays across both monitors but I had a blank internet page over the unmentionables cause it was revealing.

I used to repair and mod consoles for a living in California. I don't do it that much anymore but I still have all my tools and gadgets that I used to mod and repair them. The guy I did it for turned into a greedy a**hole. He would buy regular XBOX's for $20 and at first I would mod them for $40. I would put literally 1000's of old school Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Sega, Gameboy, Gameboy Color and N64 games, It was worth it because it took me an hour and a half per console. After 2 years he had wiggled the price down to $15, then when he said he wanted me to do them for $10 each I told him no. He got irate saying he had done tons of favors for me and I was being a d***, I told him $10 was not a favor, it was a rip-off. I would not have had a problem @ $10 each if he was not selling the consoles I modded for $200 each. Greed was his motivation. In hind-sight I should have stayed away from him, seeing how his shops look shady to begin with.

:questions:

All 3 of his shops are in California's Central Valley. A word to the wise, STAY AWAY! He rips off ALL of his customers, even his loyal ones. When I worked for him, I would charge him $40 to do a Ring of Death repair on an XBOX 360, he would turn around and charge his customers a MINIMUM of $120. These pictures were taken while I was still working for him, he no longer takes XBOX 360 or PS3's in for repair. After that ordeal I decided I was only doing mods and repairs for friends, for free when I could. I get more satisfaction doing it free for friends than I ever did doing it for him.

Nice! I wish i had a cool job. Im a paper pusher now, it's quite boring seeing i never have to use my brain. But hey the department i'm currently in always has overtime and never does layoffs so its safe for now. My mothers office wants me to come interview due to my background and are willing to pay me whatever i want within reason, of course. So i'll make my choice once i interview with them. I've noticed a few lifted pick ups in her parking lot so at least i will have someone to talk to that doesnt look at me like im a freak when i go on mod rants. (i currently am the youngest in my office at 29, every other woman is basically retirement age)

I know what you mean about working with retirement age people. We have 2 that are at retirement age that refuse to retire and another 3 that will be there fairly soon. I'm definitely the youngest in my office at 23 and the next age up is 30. So I don't get involved in much outside the office. Shoot one lady is to the point that everyone in the office makes jokes about her needing to retire while she worries about what the company needs to do to cut expenses. Since her replacement has already been hired and trained I can see one cut that would easily deal with all of those expense cuts.

I just turned 25, the next age up in the entire office is 38. The only reason I was pulled from the line in the plant to the front office is because of my computer skills. No one here was capable of wrapping their head around the proprietary software that my position uses every day. I didn't even work on the production floor for the entire MANDATORY 90 days, I was in the office after 2 months. In the last 2 years I have been given $3.50/hr in raises. It feels good to work in a position that you know not everyone could do, and to be appreciated for what you do. This job has treated me very well and even though it is not what I want to do, I take pride in it. I have only taken 1 sick day and 0 vacation days since I worked here. My supervisor retires in 2-3 years, I have been told by her and the plant manager that they are going to get me ready for her position by the time she leaves (I accidentally saw her pay stub one time, she brings home $1,350 weekly on salary).

I got the call! Interview tomorrow at 1030. I filled in my super (shes cool like that) and she told me that if its making more money to take it. They want me for a loan processing job instead of the title end. Which means even more money than i had initally thought. So we'll see!.. However, working with my mother may be a different story or even a deal breaker.

Congrats Doodle Noodle:w00t:! Fingers crossed for ya!

Mac, I hear ya. I'm still learning things everyday, I have turned into the person people come to for projects. Things they haven't done before (especially on PC's), I do it first, refine the process, then train them how to do it. Then again, I can't think of a single job that one wouldn't learn new things from daily. This is the first job that recognized my talent/skill and rewarded me for it, instead of me having to kiss a** to get somewhere. I just have to stick with it. Thanks for the kind words.

My current work station is the end of a cash register at a grocery store. Everyone knows that that looks like lol. It could also be the huge table in the engineering study room, I will try to get a picture of it. It's a big *** table.

This is my workspace at home. It's not usually this cluttered. I'll have to get a shot of my desk at work one day.
