As the title says, I am from San Antonio, Texas. Had my Xterra just under a year now and have only done some minor mods, changed the stock upper air deflector to the cargo locker, headlights to LED, and modified the bumper to hold the trailer wiring plug in in the bumper itself, not under. I am looking for anyone in the area with more mod experience and understanding of what can be done. Especially looking for lift advice.

My X is a 2015. I am in general attempting to make it look a little more beefy, I have some metal tubing on order to build a roof rack to mount between the bars so it doesn't add height but still allows me to attach my lights and such, also wanting to add a 2" lift but have never done anything like that and then find tires to add the beef look. I also have plans to eventually upgrade the rear bumper to a Schrock works bumper and add a brush guard on the front and tailight guards as well

Tip 1. Everyone here will agree. never a brushguard. They have a nickname, damage multiplier. If you have even a minor front end collision the damage to your hood, lights, etc will be catastrophic. If you want better front end protection, get an aftermarket bumper.

I keep this pic around just to demonstrate what happens to a brush guard in an accident lol not sure how fast this guy was going though or what he hit

Noted, maybe then saving up for the front bumper from Shrockworks isn't a bad idea after all, 900 dollar price tag just makes it unappealing. Guess that will be on the wish list for awhile

Front bumpers are not cheap by any means, but they really are worth the money. And while the wait time on Shrock is atrocious, they do have one of the better designs out there.

But also look at Hefty Fabworks. A lot of guys here have the HF bumper

So, when considering one of the after markets bumpers, i notice they have the top part looking like a brush guard as well, is this still considered a damage multiplier and best avoided or is it OK to use that look? I had never heard of Hefty Fabworks, i do like their look a little more and it would be worth picking up on one of my trips to Colorado to see my nephew

Those upper pieces are welded tubular steel. And since they're welded directly to the bumper, they're much stronger than any brush guard could ever dream about.
