I didn't think there's such a club for Xterra owners...I searched and found you guys! I have a story for how I got my Xterra...

I bought my Xterra in November of 2018 from Carmax with 103+k miles on it. What sold me was the sound system Rockford Fosgate, hands down I was in hog heaven, playing it loud during summertime!

Within 15 min of driving it off the bay after they placed the yellow bow and pics of me, the car was trembling and I didn't even leave the parking lot, check engine came on!! What the heck, right?? I love Carmax, they took care of my problem and helped me fix the car without much noise or pushback!

From the point on, I've had a total of 6 check engines in the last 7 months that resulted in the following fix:
A brand new transmission
A brand new radiator (stemmed from having bad tranny)
A torque converter replaced
A new catalyctic converter
An O2 sensor
Valve cover gasket replacement (from 2 check engine misfiring)
Tweeters replaced

Because of all that fix, my Xterra takes seconds to get to 90 mph, fast, strong and light! Sometimes I forget I am driving an SUV, not a sports car with big wheels! Love my Xterra! Thank you for being a part of this group!

Carmax covered all of those repairs? That's ufcking badass!

Sounds like you were a victim of SMOD. or the Strawberry Milkshake of Death. There was a defect in early 2nd gen trucks that caused an erosion of the wall between the coolant and transmission fluid in the radiator. Which is exactly why you needed both. Heh.

Glad to have you, and welcome to XN!
