Hello from Olympia, WA

Hello. I have had the Xterra for almost 4 years. Loving it.
Time for tires (~60,000), so I thought I would come and see what is recommended. I plan to do a search through the forum, but if you can point me to a thread that would be helpful.
I know, I know, what am I looking for?
It has Cooper All Terrains. I like the tires, but they are noisy. Are there any All Terrains that are not noisy?
Or maybe go with All Season instead. Decisions, decisions.

Thanks for letting me join,
Michael

Welcome.

Go for the all seasons. Unless you mud bog or rock crawl. The Michelin LTX tires are relatively quiet.

Does Olympia get sheets of rain? M&S tires will be safer.

Yes, Olympia gets lots of rain. Western Washington. Basically rain from October to May. Some snow, but usually not a lot.
Thanks,
Michael

If you think the cooper all terrains are loud, then you should not get an AT tire. That's about as quiet as it gets for that style. Spring for some M+S all-seasons. I don't think many here are going to have recommendations for those.

Good to know about the noise. I have limited experience with AT tires. Most of the time it is a non-issue, but every now and then it is annoying.
I will probably go with M+S. Probably the best fit for now. Once we move to New Mexico, it might be a different story.
Thanks

Welcome. My advise on tires is get whatever it is that your type of travels need. I know that sounds vague, but there is no tire that is good for everything, every choice you make is compromise in some fashion. If you think an AT tire is noisy, your choice is already made, unless you can deal with it, but it sounds to me like your option is an all season.
