Hello from Kansas City

Hello, thank you for allowing me to join. I have a 2011 Xterra S and it has been my favorite off-road vehicle so far. Up until about 3 years ago, I had been a Toyota guy. Then I bought my Xterra and thought, what have I been missing? Nissans are amazing vehicles that you can do a lot of different things with. I'm hoping to soak up all the knowledge about Xterras and Nissan in general that I can. Plus, the Nissan community is really unlike anything else. The Nissan community lifts each other up and is always willing to help. When you become part of the Nissan community, it really is different than any other group out there, it's awesome!

Thank you,
Matt

Hi Matt. This place is great, tons of info and lots of friendly users. Have a seat and stay awhile. Ask any questions you may have and post up some pics or a build thread. Again, welcome!

Thank you! Again, I appreciate the add. Need to research this site and find out where all the info is at. Do you happen to know where I might find information on changing the lug pattern. As you guys with experience know 2nd gens have the lovely lug pattern of 5x4.5 and that does not give the greatest wheel selection. Can I use 1st gen parts to convert to a 5x5.5? My end goal is to switch to a pro comp wheel 15" and use 33x12.50 tires.

Thanks,
Matt

We really are a different kind of bunch here.

1st gen and 2nd gen parts are not interchangeable without out LOTS of extra work. Best bet is to get some spacers that adapt from 5x4.5 to whatever pattern you want. Better bet is to swap axles/hubs, but, again, with the lots of work.

I run lug adapter spacers in my truck. They're 1¼” wide and change the lug pattern from 6x4.5 to 6x5.5. I did this in order to run Titan wheels. Though it is only a stop gap. The long term plan is to swap out the entire axle and suspension from a Titan into the X. That gives the 6x5.5 wheel pattern with no spacers, larger brakes, and 3" more track width per side.

That being said, there's no way to run anything smaller than a 16" wheel on a 2nd Gen. The brakes are too big. And if you go to the Titan setup as I plan to your smallest wheel is either 17 or 18 depending on what front brake rotors you get.

Thanks all! That's what I was thinking. Either a ton of work or adaptive wheel spacers. And thanks for seeing what I was taking about 6x4.5, not 5x4.5, lol. Prime, what brand adaptive wheel spacers are you running and where did you get them Nisstec?
