Headlight options?

Hey guys I have a 2003 xterra and need new headlights. The stock ones are kind of expensive in my opinion, plus there are not that bright. Is there any cheaper options out there? I was looking at jeep headlights and I thought it would be cool if you could mount them in place of the stock ones. Has any one made custom headlights for our SUVs? thanks.

Have you cleaned the lenses? The 3m headlight restore kit is good. Or have you replaced the bulbs? They do degrade over time. I had good results with sylvania ultras. For real dark nights I’ve added some rigid spots to the roof.

Hey! I did try sanding and repainting the one headlight just to test it out. But I didn't let the paint thinner evaporate completely, so now there are runs in the clear coat. Also the the headlight housing is broken so the bulb doesn't get a proper connection. I replaced the connector once, but I need a new headlight housing.

On a side note. Are you apart of any off road clubs? Here in PEI there is a jeep club, but I don't drive a jeep LOL. There aren't many trails in PEI.
Thanks

You might try to find a used one from a junkyard. There are a few around the Maritimes. Or try JWspeaker they make all kinds of LED lights.

No, I’m not part of any club here either. There are a couple but they organize via face Balls. I don’t zuckerbook. Maybe we could start our own? Though for a club I think we need 3. Next time you come across the bridge look me up. We’ll do some exploring and Beer?

Ill try that thanks. I think it would be cool to have led headlights. I just don't know if they are legal.

That would be cool to start a club maybe call it "Not A Jeep Club" LOL. Are there many trails around you? I don't drink beer.

NB is full of logging roads.
Have you watched mountain state overland on YouTube? They have 3 episodes of them exploring NB, very cool. So ya lots of trails, I’m new to Fredericton so I don’t know anybody who wheels.

As for the LED lights being legal or not, most new cars are equipped with them. Retro fitting them could be a thing, laws will vary province to province.

There is a guy on the book of faces by the name of that builds hid retrofits for first gens but you could probably do it cheaper by following @Prime write up in the DIY section.

Mine were so badly faded, lens and paint, that I just purchased a black set from CarID, Spyder brand. I also replaced the grille at the same time.

A little bit late but I wanted to share my positive experience with Lasfit LED headlights. 55.00$ with free shipping.
Toss those halogens now and you will be glad you did.

These are not low end led lights. Any set of led head lights under 25 bucks will probably disappoint you. I have bought low cost led's and they performed like a floodlight and no amount of adjustment could make them useful and the high beams did little to nothing. Superior light projection and beam pattern with a high beam to match. Toss those halogens now and be glad you did. Much brighter than halogen, no mods and you only need to remove your battery for the one light. I did not have to readjust my lights and I have not been flashed by oncoming motorists once. For 1st generation you will want 9004 HB1

Reviving this thread instead of starting a new one.

Are there any options for head light assemblies beyond the stock style? Has anyone ever put Frontier headlights in an Xterra? My local yard has a cheap pair in good condition. looks like it would fit but then I'd have a gap on my hood where the Xterra headlights would "bulge" up on the top of the headlight assembly.

Really just checking for options before I shell out OE style headlights. Thanks.
