As an ex mechanic and currently an automotive partsman, I like using my abilities to find solutions to problems I encounter. I have made use of resources at my disposal to come up with solutions such as after installing headers on my 2000 X ( cracked exhaust manifolds were too expensive to replace... ), I needed longer wiring harnesses on my primary oxygen sensors, so I came up with a number of NGK sensors that all work that had different harness lengths. Doing so enabled me to overcome the problem of the cheap eBay headers having the O2 bungs welded into the wrong places, requiring the sensors to be moved to what would be the secondary O2 sensor bung in the first couple years of downpipes that didn't have secondary catalytic convertors. Even tho I am currently running with no cats ( I intend to install sometime this summer tho and add in post cat O2 bungs and create an extended harness for these too ! ) and a CEL on the dash, everything worked out quite well ! I even have plenty of extra O2 sensor harness zip tied up at the top of the engine ! I will post an article soon with details of my exploits doing so !
