Google has instituted new policy in there shopping feature and is in the process of censoring and removing all fire arms related results from the shopping section that many of us use to compare prices.

http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/...g-to-censor-all-gun-ammo-accessories-results/

What can you do other then the obvious of switching search engines to Bing or one of the other search engines? You can leave feedback telling them how displeased you are with there new policy.

1. Go to Google
2. Search for gun related thing such as "9mm ammunition"
3. Select "shopping" as type of search
4. See that no results are found because Google is being an anti gun jackwagon
5. In bottom right click Give Us Feedback
6. Select Google's search results weren't helpful.
7. Select Other
8. Type something describing how you feel about there decision and your choice to no longer use there search engine.

Repeat several times a day. Tell your other gun buddies to do the same. Spread the word statistics vary but anywhere from 80,000,000 to 160,000,000 gun owners in the U.S. Let's see how Google feels about losing that many users.

Speaking of 'blows'... If you do a google search for "gun" under shopping, all you will get is air soft guns, bb, pellet, simulation, etc.

The counter to this whole argument is that if you search for anything using Bing, you will fail to find what you're looking for.

You'll get the normal results under a normal Google search. It's Google Shopping that is changing. I rarely use the Shopping search anyway, and I don't think I ever used it to search for firearms related stuff.

Ok, I saw a little bubble that popped up in the corner saying google shopping is going commercial. Just skimming over it, it looks to me like if you want results listed you've got to pay for an ad....

Bingo. And Bing is owned by Microsoft, and if I am not mistaken, they're big time Anti-gun.

Don't use Bing pick another one like Yahoo. As for Bing not coming up with results it works fine for me.

Google is going commercial with there shopping site, great...what is your point? It's ok because it's a commercial venture, couldn't agree more however my point is I will not use or do business with any anti fire arms site/company when given a choice not to. No gun enthusiast should continue to do business with, or generate revenue for, anti gun companies when other gun friendly companies or sites are a click away.

Do you ever buy anything from Australia ? or the UK? How about China? Im pretty sure their governments are pretty anti gun too..

Im not downing on your idea of Google going out of its way to be anti gun.. Just seem the Social agenda of the world is moving that way..

Im not as hard core as some of you when it comes to owning guns.. I have a few and enjoy shooting them.. Id say the way to fight this is posting up like you have done in every open forum you can and pushing the NRA to fight this battle too.. People are slowly loosing the rights.. And the sad thing is most do not even see it...

I actively avoid all of the above when possible as well as any anti firearms companies or organization pushing that agenda...which is the whole point of posting this. People are lazy and refuse to take the time to do even the smallest thing because it is an inconvenience to them yet want to cry about the loss of rights. I'm a supporting member of the NRA, GOA, and SAF and I can guarantee that half the gun owners on this site do not even belong to the NRA one of the most feared lobbying groups in Washington and we wonder why our rights continue to be eroded.

I love my firearms, but man... things are sure getting more tougher than easier. I guess it is about time I join the NRA again, I have stopped paying my dues a few years back

so....I just found this, and, not trying to necropost, but, who really cares about google shopping?
anything that pops up in it, is auto killed if you try to click it and have any decent adblockers installed.... ;)

if you want to buy things, use the regular search and buy from regular stores that specialize in the product you're after....

or....better yet, support your LOCAL stores as much as possible...yes, you may pay a little more than someplace you find online, but, I'm willing to bet that between that price difference and tax, you're still paying about the same as that item online with expedited shipping to get it to you as fast as it can, so you can enjoy it as quickly as you would just walking in someplace local and buying it off the shelf...and, if you have issues with it and bought it locally, you can walk in and deal with the person face to face that sold it to you, instead of grumbling because you've got to go through the RMA process for an online order....

just sayin....it is pretty interesting to know that google shopping doesn't return any firearm info, but, then again, until I read this thread, I had never once clicked on google shopping....

honestly, I don't like google as a company, and I don't like microsoft as a company, but, I still use google for searching...and an xbox 360 for gaming....maybe I don't hate them as much as I think I do.... *shrug*

This is silly to me... I try to buy local on things if I can..

Every company out there stands for something that will offend EVERYONE so..

*nod* agreed....the only time I don't buy local is if the gap is simply too large and I'm in no hurry for the product, and then I try to go through amazon....

I like Google for several things, Gmail is nice, the photo hosting is awesome, and the map tools are amazing, and who here doesn't watch You Tube, come on.

I definitely don't agree with everything they do, but if they offer it for free, I'll take it. Right now I'm just a parasitic speck on their resources. I use Ad-Block, so just about any attempt they make to advertize to me is never seen. What I do see is ignored, when I buy something I research it out, I don't follow ad's. Advertizing is like Jedi mind tricks, they only work on the weak minded.

For that matter without spending day and night researching, how would you even know if you agree with the philosophical views of any company you buy from. It would get tiring very quickly. I hear many outdoor product manufacturers don't support 4x4 interests, but do I keep a do not buy list in my pocket, no. Now if I had to spend a lot of money on a regular basis with a particular vendor, yes the company views would be a factor in my purchasing decisions, but for one item here or there, I can't do that much homework.

Now when it comes down to planning world domination, I don't think I'm going to use Gmail to convey the plot to my subjects. If you want it kept secret, don't put it online, anywhere. Muhahahahaha! O wait, oops. Shhh don't tell anyone.......

the photo hosting is awesome

careful about that, by using any "photobucket" or anything like that, you're giving them copyright license to do anything they want with your images, including sell them for their own profit, because you've given them the image.
