Good Radio For 2006 Xterra?

Anyone have any suggestions on a new radio for the Xterra?

I have a 2006 SE and I'm afraid of losing my fancy steering wheel buttons that allow me to lazily change the radio channel and up/down the volume without moving. It's got the bose speakers and all. I cannot stand half radios where people have that space below them so I can't get anything like that. I can't get anything super expensive either. The stock radio is great other than the fact that I cannot hook an Auxiliary connection to it (AKA an ipod or my Galaxy S3) and wouldn't mind getting some satellite radio as well (thats not needed though).

Picky bastard aren't I? haha.

Any suggestions? Anything you guys have done similar?

Almost any modern aftermarket stereo (aside from those in the extremely low price ranges) will have the ability to connect with your steering wheel controls via an adapter (either a Metra Axxess or Pac SWI). I suggest Crutchfield.com be your first stop for your shopping experience. They do all the research, and will inform you whether any given stereo can use one of the interfaces to connect to your steering wheel controls, etc. If you buy from them you pay more than you would elsewhere, but you get free installation accessories and the absolute best customer service anywhere.
