Let's get this rolling a little earlier this year. Who's going?

I will be there. I have already reserved a 3BR condo.

Sign ups are on goneMOAB site.

If you have any questions about the event, see the goneMOAB FB page or post them below. There are members here who can help direct you.

    Hope to see you there!

I'd love to make it out. Amelia would have a blast! Not so sure about the new kiddo though, she'll almost be 1 though when GONE rolls around. Will have to see how things shape up later in the year!

I've been wheeling with my kids since they were 6 months old. They love it.

Thats cool, my older one has been along for a few sessions as well since she was around 6 months or so. As she got older she kind of worried about us "falling off the edge". But she is a trooper, she is 4 now.

Keep them going. I stopped wheeling for a while because I was too busy working and now my kids are hit or miss on going. I try to take them and when they go, they usually have a good time. The little one doesn't like off-camber stuff and I'm not a fan either, but she complains when we're tipped over sideways....

I am very interested in going as life has gotten in the way the last 3 years and I've been unable to attend. How do you know what the dates are for the event? Is it the same every year? or are you just assuming it'll be the last week in may like last year?

    Thanks,

    -Craig

It's always the week before Memorial Day. So people have Monday off to travel home.

Awesome! Thanks. I'll start searching for lodging now. What day do most people start showing up? Is it a Saturday-Friday type thing?

Yeah I've checked it out, but it looks like its still setup for 2019 and not the upcoming 2020 dates.

I have a condo reserved. May not be the cheapest since I only plan on splitting it 3 ways. Will near $650ish maybe a little less. Its 3 br 2.5ba where most others stay.

Hi Brian, it got hacked. They are looking for a way to restore it. Ron R is running the show now. Bill and Terry moved on to Jeeping. The FB page is best way to keep up to date.

It all seems a tad fishy to me.... That web site has been down for well over a month, and they just announced the hack a few day ago, then a day or two later they're out.... things that make ya go hmmmm.

All that said though, I wouldn't wanna try to organize it. No matter what ya do people will whine and complain, all while you're busting your ass for free.

Sad to hear people ho have been around a while are moving to other platforms.

I wouldn't mind if they went back to being exclusively Nissan products.

Weird..... I heard Bill bought a Jeep but it was just a few years ago that he took over and promised he would be there for the long haul. Oh well....

I am not on and NEVER will be on FB. Hopefully the website gets restored. Not sure I am going to make it next year anyway.

It's still going on this year. Ron R is lead dog. Eventbrite is actually the site that we buy the event tickets from. To my knowledge the ticket process will be the same. You don't even need the GoneMOAB page to sign up for it. Just search GoneMOAB on Everbrite.com or the app. From the info I received from others, Eventbrite will be rolling out the tickets around the same time has other years in the beginning on Dec.

My understanding is the event has gotten bigger every year over the past serveral years and would expect it to grow more this year has well. While Bill and Terry will be missed, it takes a whole lot of volunteers to run the event and a whole lot of really awesome folks that have been fixtures for long time at GoneMOAB are still there. I have absolutely 0 worries about the event degrading in any way.

I would like to ask our community to be mindful of their criticisms on all forms of media. A lot of really awesome people dedicate a large portion of time to put this event together. While its awesome to have a prideful Nissan community, it is also hurtful to see snarky comments on the grateful folks that volunteer their time for us to put on events like this. No matter what platform they chose to drive.

If you are not a follower of the FB page already, feel free to posts questions or comments here. There are plenty of folks that will be able to assist.

I look forward to seeing ya'll there in May!

1st off the tickets are sold on Eventbrite not Everbrite. 2nd.... Bill and I had a good relationship and I let him know how much I appreciated his efforts each year that I have attended and for me at least, he will be missed. Perhaps you are referring to something posted on FB or somewhere else as snarky.

The job of organizing an event like this is very complicated and as others have said, I would not want to do it. Regardless, I am confident the new organizers will come through with a great event in this excellent area for off road adventure. I agree that, unlike other events, we should allow all brands of vehicles to participate.... as they always have.

To clarify previous statement - it's a proactive general statement. Not aimed at anyone. Like a public service announcement asking for kindness form all:).

This was posted on the GONE FB page, safe to say GONE is effectively gone...

"Everyone – apologies that it’s taken me this long to get any information to you. It’s been incredibly busy here trying to figure out how to move this event forward. As it stands, goneMOAB will be changing into something new. Greg, Beth, and I’ve dug into what it’s going to take to make the even move forward and simply put, it’s more than we can pull off. Because of that, I’ve been reaching out to different people who’ve expressed interest in keeping it running and we’ll be turning things over to them. Please join me in welcoming LeLan Merel, Sean Truttmann, and Jay Anderfuren on board! They’ve volunteered to take this endeavor on and will be putting out announcements and information regarding the new event.

What does this mean for all of the attendees? In the big picture, probably not too much – the event will get a different name but it’s occurring at the exact same time. The three of us won’t disappear completely as we’ll be around to answer questions and make sure they’ve got as much information as possible.

Personally, I’d like to say thank you to all of those who’ve made the event great. It’s been a fun ride for us, even with all of the ups and downs. However, after attending for almost 10 years and being an organizer for the last three, it’s time to for us to take a sanity break.

More announcements will be forthcoming from your new organizers. I’ve got the utmost faith in them that they’ll put together a great event."

It is... Aaaaaand it really isn't.

Here's the skinny. There will still be an event. It will have the same feel as the old event. However. New name & new management. Myself, LeLan and Sean. A lot of you guys in this site have known me for years. And you know I give a damn about the Nissan community. So don't worry too much about the specifics.

There will be a few changes. But none of the important stuff is going away.

Tickets will still go live in a few weeks.

Stay tuned. There will be more information very soon.

I'm really excited to be a part of this thing. And all of you should be too.

I apologize, I didn't intend my post to make it sound like the event is going away, I know you all are working hard on taking it over.

On an unrelated note, I know you've been in X scene for a long time. Were you at GONE last year? I feel like I should know you or have met you in the past (I hope that's not too stalker-ish, lol). I've had my X for 5 years and a Frontier for four years prior to that, I feel like I've gotten to know quite a few people over those years.

I was at GONE this past year.
