I have been deadly ill the past 2 days and feel better today and have to do get some good pics for NSM. Hopefully there are not many out on the trails when I get out there to take the pics. I will also go to downtown austin to get some in city/urban pics. I hope they come out good and all goes well.

had a great day out there... I felt really good surprisingly. My wife toward the end... not so much. Anyhow we plan on going back out tomorrow to hang out with the IH8MUD guys we met up with. Most of the guys and gals were FJ owners (3) and a Tundra owner. I definitely learned something today and that is don't judge a book by its cover. I never thought FJ guys would ever invite me to hang out with them, but these guys were all for it! When I crossed paths with Jason (FJ) and Rodney (Tundra) they stopped and asked what I have done and if they can show me some pretty good picture spots, somewhat iffy about it, I said yea. What started as a maybe 2 hr tops at the park ended with like 6hrs running with these guys.

I will try to get pics up when I get a chance, I am pretty tired now. I did my inspection and I busted another boot on the other CV shaft, so now I will need both sides. I did have a squeak on the driver side front so I broke down the hub, inspected bearings, repacked, and reassembled it.

I always overpack drinking water, it is way to cheap to get caught without.

Can't wait for some pictures though.

Yup and as do I, but this time I really f'd that one up. I have to always carry water and gatorade with us from here on out no matter what. I will be going out downtown today for some urban pictures today and try to go back out to hidden falls after 3pm today to meet up with the guys again. Their group should be up to at least 12 now, this is an short term notice get together for the organizer's girlfriend as she has just found out she will has 1 year of chemo ahead of her. Seeing that this hits pretty close to home, we are going to try to go back try to make her trail experience better by the number of people that show up and hang out.

Well I didn't get out there until about 5pm and had to pick my kids up before dark, so we hung out until about 8pm. Cool crowd with FJ's and very much capable, even considered possibly getting one in the future. That would be a ways in the future though, and would be an addition to the family.

As far as how the diesel xterra did on the trails yesterday, It did wonderful except it was 110 (in the sun) and I have no fan shroud trying to run A/C full blast at a crawl <--- it didn't like that one bit. The group I was with was extremely surprised at what I was capable of and honestly so was I. I opted out for the trails with rocks that would really do damage and where my LSD wouldn't cut it. But overall performance was perfect for the trails, I am still longing for coil overs all the way around though.

PICTURES PICTURES PICTURES, will be posted after they pass my wife's selection and editing.

I wonder how often the Tundra catches that side step on stuff. I would be scared of tearing it off.

wow... I didn't even notice that about his truck. I know he is disabled, and I definitely know that he needs that step but never noticed it.

Thank you, it is a really nice place... just better when it's cooler out. I think in the winter it would be perfect!

So I might have missed it but did you get booted and switched the tire or is it a dummy boot?
