Getting past the firewall

Right now my X is in bits because I'm trying to get a power cable from the battery through the firewall and into the cab. The problem is that this will serve a ham radio that may be turned up to 75 watts so I don't want to lengthen the cable. That means I need to get inside on the passenger side.

I have tried fishing a custom heavy gauge wire fish-tape (coat hanger) into the cabin from behind the fuse box but even after pulling most my dash apart I can't manage to find the end. Maybe the problem is my sasquatch-sized hands, but I need some guidance on how to get this power line inside.

On my G1 it was easier to go from the cab into the engine compartment. I used an awl to start a hole then a 18awg wire as a pull string for a four conductor speaker wire bundle.

I have run 10's of wires from the engine bay to the cab. But I have always gone on the driver side. I could easily see it from both sides. I have looked at the passenger side and it just seems like a night mirror to do. I know people have done it a bunch of times though. I would take a look at my truck but is is 300miles away and 240 of those are ocean....

I ended up doing that. I installed conduit along the firewall to protect the wires and make it look nice and clean. I got some stuff slightly larger than I need so I can use it for future projects.
