Ok, not the diff. Dropped the engine skid and opened the fill plug, fluid started to seep out as I was opening it.

Also, can now confirm the color and consistency does not match diff fluid.

The fluid is yellow, and not very thick, consistency and color of coolant. But there is nothing leaking from any coolant location that is dripping to the shock area.

It seems concentrated on the shock tube and spring, shock hydraulic fluid? Is that yellow?

I wiped it all down and will go check in a couple hours to see what happens.
Sounds like shock oil. It's a clear/yellow hydraulic fluid. Check around the shaft seal of the shock.

And the strap over the CV maybe pulled it out of the diff so it’s not seated properly? Would that cause fluid to leak from the diff? I’m just confused because when you change a CV, nothing leaks, diff fluid doesn’t run out when you pull the CV.

Stupid question, the shock tube has fluid yes? Do those leak?

I’ll wipe it down and watch, probably open the diff fill plug just to check as well.
I was thinking they separated the boot at one end or something, but more being pessimistic because shipping guys broke my car.

Are X’s like military helicopters? It seems the leak has stopped. So its “fixed”, or it’s out of fluid.

I was always told don’t get on the helicopter that is not leaking because it has run out of whatever fluid is supposed to be in there.

But that might just be a Marine thing, we got the hand-me-downs.

OME question.

Gonna replace the front shocks to take care of the leak. Off road shop here is an OME distributor. For the springs, there’s light duty and heavy duty. Suggestion is heavy duty for a bumper and winch. But I’ve heard they are really stiff. Roads here are rough. I don’t want to crack my teeth every time I go somewhere. Light duty coils will be a softer ride, but will my front end squat too much with the extra weight if I go with them?

So, I have a set of HD springs for my Frontier. I don't have a winch or bumper (got the kit for a steal), if you want, buy the Light duty springs, and if you need more spring rate, and swap springs with you, if you're interested.

How’s your ride with the heavy duty coils?

Oh, another question. I have 2” top spacers with my current shocks. Is anyone running spacers with OME?

Put on OME front shocks today. Also rotated the tires and added PRG adjustable front sway bar links. Cut the rear axle u bolts too. Never trimmed them when I did the flip. Got late so didn’t get a chance to drive it. Will tomorrow and see how it rides.

Yesss! Finally got my window replaced. The Nissan dealer ended up not being able to get one shipped in. I was going to order one, but everything that shows up via the Diplomatic Post looks like it was delivered by Ace Ventura. Luckily I found a local shop that could make one.

Also went to the shop next door for an alignment, was a little off from switching to the OME shocks. They were about 1/2 inch longer than my old ones. Four wheel alignment for $35, can’t beat that!

A little unexpected off roading today. Went to an old village about an hour away to see the 15th century monastery sitting on the cliffs above the river. Google took me through some rural village streets and up the backside of the cliff on dirt roads. Been raining for two days so the roads were a bit muddy. Switched to 4wd and carried some momentum to get up. Snapped a couple shots to commemorate the inaugural off road trip in Moldova.

Couple shots of the river valley. Beautiful area, I will go back to explore the many side roads I saw.

Finished with lunch at a restaurant carved into the hillside.

Updated OP with new photos. Got it back from the paint shop on Thanksgiving. Full Raptor liner including plastics and wheels. Bumpers were done as well as the rock sliders. I chose a darker color for the truck and wheels, front grill painted to match the wheels. Had the inside soundproofed and the headlights were cleaned up and coated with protectant. So much quieter on the road now.

She’s a beaut Clark!

Happy 2024! Planning my next mods.

Exhaust:

I was thinking this muffler and have a shop here fab the pipes from the cats back.

MagnaFlow Performance Exhaust Muffler 12580: 2.5"/2.25" Inlet/Outlet, 5x11x22" Oval, Stainless Steel, Satin Finish

Thoughts? Any other muffler suggestions out there? I know we won’t get V8 sound and power but time for a little upgrade.

Thoughts on a cold air intake? Those that have one are you happy?

And the center console. It’s too low. Has anyone found something that fits the space?

I have the Stillen intake, and use an AFE 21-91054 magnum dry flow filter with it. My only complaint is the lid warped a little bit, so it can be little annoying trying to put it back on after opening to clean the filter.

I've hated the lower center console ever since I got the X back on 06, still haven't come up with something better. Some people have bought an extender thing, I've seen them on Amazon/eBay for not a lot of money. I think they're basically a foam block that you attach to the lid to give it some extra height.

What do you mean by this. The arm rest? The tray in front of the shifter? What exactly is "too low?"

I'm guessing the armrest on top of the center console. The car I had before the X had a much higher one that you could almost lean on while driving, the low one in the X was the first thing I noticed on the test drive.

Correct, the arm rest is too low. On the first gen it was taller and I could rest my elbow while driving. Can’t do it on this one.

Maybe it’s a different torso-arm ratio, or I just slouch hella, but I haven’t felt like it is too low.
