It's proving to be a bit laborious, but the end result will be epic. Plus once the first pair is done, I'll know how to knock them out with a quickness and precision.

Laid down the first coat of blue on the new shrouds.

One of them went tragically wrong so I used some mineral spirits to remove ALL the paint so I could shoot it again.

It's a shame I wasn't going for this look. It doesn't fit the rest of the truck, but maybe in the future for another project.

It has a real neat steam punk / Mad Max look to it. I kinda like it. But like I said, it doesn't really go with the rest of the truck.

Something to keep in mind for the future though. Hehe

What caused it to go wrong??

The paint just ran and ran. I didn't sand it well enough and the primer just pooled at the bottom.

I gotcha! So you will be able to fix it up right?

Yeah. With all the paint removed, I'll be able to shoot the primer and blue again. It just needed a fresh start.

Updated with some reflector assembly goodness.

The flash on the camera kind of washes out the blue. It's much darker in person.

Updated. Got the headlights put back together. Waiting on some good weather and I'll get them on the truck. Also did some house cleaning on the progress of the build.

I really like how subtle these are. Not too flashy but still a lighting powerhouse.

The smoked signal/corner lights really set it off. I can't wait to see it installed!

Yeah, with as dark as the rest is, I couldn't leave the corner lights bright. That just sealed the deal on the whole thing for me too.

This thing came out awesomely. I love it. Modern headlights FTMFW!
