So is it fairly easy to change out the T5 bulbs for the gauges on a 2003 XE?
Are we talking about the main cluster or the climate controls?
Main cluster primarily. Mine is so dim with how they are recessed. The climate T5's also?
The main cluster is actually 3 x 194 bulbs. Those are easy. The climate controls are like some weird extended T5 that I've never seen before.
Once you pull off the bezel there's three screws for the cluster and two wiring harnesses once u unclip those the whole cluster comes out nice and smoothly then changing the bulbs is a breeze
So the bezel over the gauges just clicks in place?
I had to remove my radio and temp bezel and the lower kickpanel to remove screws
Yes. You have to remove the kick panel, and center stack/radio panel. The cluster panel lives under all of those.
Mine are the T5 after getting it apart. No one in town has them even Batteries and Bulbs. So have a led set coming from Amazon.
Should have put a coin next to it for reference.
Are those for the individual indicators? Because I thought you were asking about general illumination. On the back of the cluster there's three larger lamp bases that hold the 194s which illuminate the entire cluster.
Mine are small lampholders.
On a side note. Not sure how many know that plain white toothpaste will polish scratches out of plastic.
So received T5 led's. Did have 2 of 3 bulbs burned out. But still so much nicer.
